I never really cared what kind of purse I carried, and would never spend over $20 on one, but then I found myself having to get a new one every couple of months because it was so cheaply made that it would wear out and fall apart, it is a lengthy process for me, finding one to suit my needs. So I started buying better purses a few years ago, and I have quite a collection now, they don't fall apart or wear out, I only replace them because I am tired of looking at them. So I guess the old saying is true, you get what you pay for?
I seldom use them. I get bored with them before they ever wear out. As long as it's big enough for my wallet and glasses, it's big enough. Most women have these huge satchels that I could pack for a weekend in. So, I don't expect something I'd use to be expensive.
I have to say my motivation to buy a purse, jacket or anything else comes from how close it 'fits' who I am. I believe there are limits to what money should go to such things..at least until I ran into the jacket I never thought I would find. lol
I never thought I'd spend more than a couple hundred on a jacket.. then I ran into that one prrrfect overland sheepskin western 3/4 length bardot.. that did everything for me.. with a price tag of 1400.00 and on sale for 700.00.. I bought it..and 6 years later, I wear it to this day.. Sometimes I use the top blazer portion alone, and the under coat sleeveless alone. It feels like a second skin, and flows so prrfect. In business or in play.. its classy and quality. I won't ever need another leather jacket in this lifetime.
Purses... ehhh.. I'm not big into purses so, can't comment on that.
My wife always wants a new Coach brand purse like every 3 months. They are so freaking expensive! I mean come on $500 for a bag to carry all your crap in just because it designer and has fall colors? wtf? and dont give me that "value is all relative" crap. Hell i wont pay over 15 bucks for a wallet and i think that's expensive.
Not much!
I lose them wayyyyyyy to often to spend alot
Even when I lose them at school or work, I am not allowed to have them back because I am a boy and people think I am just trying to steal them
I need to glue it to my arm or something...
It really depends on the purse and how much I like it, but the last one I bought was $100 (Kathy Van Zealand). Unfortunately, I get bored easily and always feel like I need a new purse! Speaking of which, it's time for a new one :-).
Why the hell would I need a designer purse, damn thing is going to get damaged anyways by the all the crap I will be placing it into. Like tossing it at the wall in an angry fit, stuffing folded notes that I forgot to put in my backpack, money everywhere, pulling out my MP3 and getting it snagged on said purse (well my purse isn't really a purse it is more like a sack as my mom calls it)
I love designer handbags and shoes, but I will not go over $100. I also hit up the outlet stores usually, so they are cheaper than paying retail at the mall department stores/boutiques.
I bought a $16 purse specifically for my trip to Washington last Summer, and I thought it was really cute. Someone tried to steal it while I was there though, and when they grabbed it the strap almost ripped off. I was really upset about it!
I am still looking for a purse with really sturdy straps to replace that one, lol. I probably wouldn't spend any more than $40 though.

I don't need expensive things. As long I have something to put my stuff in, then I'm fine.
