Typically, I do too. I am experimenting with my creativity and starting a clothing line. This is my way of getting honest feedback so I can figure out what people want. How they see themselves. It's been very interesting so far :)

It's not me, but if its you, its me. Well, I mean I wouldn't mind being in the company of someone else wearing it :)

I wear a lot of random chains on my clothes anyway for the fun of it. lol

I would wear the chain if it was a little shorter. I'm pretty clumsy, and at that length I'd probably end up catching it on something and breaking it, which would be unfortunate because it looks so pretty.

I am clumsy too, lol. I "tacked" the chain down ;)

What do you know about tacky? You're 16yrs old! The fact that you failed to use a capital at the beginning of your sentence, or use any kind of punctuation at the end is what is tacky. If you are going to try and insult someone older than you, at least do it right.

First, this is an opinion website. That was my opinion.
Hmm.. what else? Okay, people's fashion choices are opinions too. So even if you're older than me, you might not know about tacky (your words) too. Lastly, I'm very tired so excuse my French for not using any kind of punctuation. I guess I didn't put any effort in those 5 seconds. I was not insulting you, I was just stating my opinion. You are entitled to your opinion, but you can't give your opinion so decidedly and expect to not hear something back. I happen to know a lot about the fashion world. I have worked in it. You should stick to debating with people your own age. People don't like mouthy teenagers.

But isn't the fashion world COMPLETELY based on opinion?

When it is a single word capitalized, it is not yelling. It is simply emphasizing a word.
Fashion is completely based on opinion and there are many that listen to the fashion sirens, but many of us just wear what is comfortable.
And the fact that you have become so irate (I would cite your last sentence) indicates that you know what I have said is true, but your pride won't allow you to acquiesce.
Simply put, I have you cornered and you don't like it.

This is your opinion. And you don't even have the balls to show your face, so it's of little consequence to me that you flout your opinion so decidedly. All I hear is "Blah blah blah".

I value honest, constructive criticism and I love a good challenge. Do I get offended when someone uses the word "tacky"? Yes. That isn't helpful to the creative process. I wanted her to tell me more. What would she like to see done differently? What are her ideas of "fashion" that she would be interested in. I thrive on knowing what people really think, as long as they tell me why :)

But you didn't ask for any further information. You spoke to her in a condescending (yes, I am referring to a previous comment) tone and I quote

Simply put, she didn't like your style. That is fine. There is nothing wrong with that. There is nothing wrong with you liking your style. It is yours. And on a deeply human level, it hurts when others label a part of you (your style) as tacky. I get that.
But you came out the gate ready to bite her head off instead of asking the questions you have just now stated.

As a fellow "older" person, I understand that some of these kids don't seem to have any sense, fashion or otherwise. But we were there at one time.

Yes I did. Again, I have zero tolerance for people who simply throw out insults. People (especially teens and people like you who think you have the answer to everything) no longer respond to politeness. They see it as a weakness and they are so completely insecure with themselves that the feel the need to throw out empty insults to cut other's down. I may go about things very aggressively, but provoking thought is what I do.

Everything of material interest is far too readily available to youth these days, and very few of them appreciate anything. especially hard work and real life situations.

I agree to that last sentiment. Material interest is of no value to me. And my last comment was not meant to come across as an insulting commentary.
As for politeness, I think we all were lacking. I do apologize for my hasty words.

I agree, I have certainly lost a great deal of my politeness over the years. I too, apologize for being quick with the sharp side of my tongue..

Thanks :) One question: As a male, how do you like to see a lady dress? The things I've done so far are just fun, creative, scene clothes. When I actually make my own clothes (rather than just modifying clothes) I want to make sure they are classy and edgy at the same time. Any thoughts?

Asian influenced dresses, I think, would do the trick. You can add some edge without being cheap.

No problem :) I basically just posted this skirt as an example of my work. I have some other clothes I will be posting that are actually for sale. I save the most controversial pieces for my own wardrobe because I like unique clothing. I figured if I got good reactions to something I actually wear, it should be easy to sell the clothes I will be posting.
