The Kim Kardashian engagement-TV wedding-quickie divorce drama just keeps giving. Kim's estranged hubby, NBA player Kris Humphries, filed for an annulment on Wednesday on the grounds of fraud, People reports. Kim has already filed for divorce.

In his Superior Court filing, Humphries marks the box reading "nullity of voidable marriage" and checks as the basis the box saying "fraud," People reports. Under California law, a nullity is granted if the court finds that no valid marriage ever occurred. Hmm -- does that mean the 72-day marriage was JUST FOR A TV SHOW? Just wondering ...
Now, the former lovers may be heading for a legal battle. "There's a clear conflict if one spouse is seeking a divorce, but the other wants an annulment," family law attorney Scott Weston, who is not involved in the case, told People. "A judge will have to decide which to allow, which could take many months."

That said, a source told People that Kim would be happy with an annulment. "She always wanted an annulment but attorneys were against it so she's happy that both parties agree now," the source said.
Kind of feels like this makes it official: This marriage was made for TV. Should the judge grant the couple an annulment? Or a divorce?

I cannot understand how you would even think the man was blind to the situation when he went into it. Divorce cannot happen without legal marriage and those two consumated a legally binding contract in the marriage bed. Why do you even feel sorry for someone who got his 15 seconds of fame for bedding that woman?reply - Shirley rosebud 2011/12/06 23:09:43
I guess you have never heard the term "being used". I have my own past "annulment", and yes, you can place yourself into a marriage situation without full knowledge of intent from the marital partner. It happened to me--it happens all the time frankly. This man did not even want her at a very recent family funeral which she wanted to attend, indicative of extreme anger and humiliation. Very reminiscent for me unfortunately.reply - rosebud Shirley 2011/12/13 18:32:10
The tabloids have it that the man is gay. Did they put that story out to make the case for annulment?reply - Shirley rosebud 2011/12/16 16:08:18
Even MORE of a reason for annulment as that was the exact scenario of MY annulment and I had two children and was married over five years!! But can you believe the tabloids?? Annulment would be better for her too if that were the true facts. Annulment is done due to one party concealing information about themselves or their intentions that would have had an effect on one's decision to marry. Mine was annuled by the Bishop. It is considered fraud. So since neither of them is going to come clean on this, there should be an annulment; for him if she had an ulterior motive; for her if he hid the gay factor.reply - rosebud Shirley 2011/12/20 20:04:51
Had he not had sexual intercourse he could make a case for annulment. They did have sex, so it is a divorce they will have to get.reply - Shirley rosebud 2011/12/21 16:37:36
Sorry, I received an anulment after 5 1/2 years of marriage and two children.reply - rosebud Shirley 2011/12/27 17:52:09

I agree. As I stated in my post, I am Episcopalian, was married 5 1/2 years and had two children. My marriage was annuled by the Bishop due to ex-hubby's deceit and keeping information from me that would have led me to not marry him.reply - Bob S Boss 2011/12/03 00:14:56
Ask the Kennedys..Several tried but I don't know if the church agreed. Money must changed hands somewhere along the line.reply - Cathy 2011/12/02 17:18:16Annulment+3An annulment should do since they only stayed married for 72 days...... if you can even call it a marriage.reply
- Tennessee3501 2011/12/02 17:11:53Annulment+2Fraud is supposed to mean that she withheld information from him, which, if it had been disclosed, would have caused Kris not to enter the marriage. For example, if they planned to have children and then, after the wedding, Kim said she lied about children in order to get him to marry her, and that she really did not want any, Kris would have his grounds for an annulment!reply

How about if she lied about wanting a marriage period? She should have said she wanted a wedding, but not a real marriage, cause a marriage is hard work and compromise, and she is not familiar with either concept. this was reality TV staging from day 1 til day 72, and he was nothing more then a prop in her world, sadly, he didn't know that.reply - houston... Lanikai 2011/12/03 00:09:58
Why is it that people hate on beautiful successful people. I'm neither, but I don't begrudge them the fact that they are. I'd be willing to bet she works a lot more hours than you do. Now compromise - I'll give you that - from what we can tell by the TV show - that's so reliable. How much compromise does Kris have in him? Again judging from the TV show, not much either. Truth is, you have no idea why they're separating.reply - Lanikai houston... 2011/12/05 16:23:24
No one hates or begrudges her her looks or success, EXCEPT that she acts like everyone SHOULD. (i would say more, but i dont want to tick off the catholic church, so im not really free to say whats on my mind about this subject)......like it matters some might say eh? im currently divorced, so for myself its a non issue.... but i guess so they can sleep peacefully at night and have a clear conscience, i DO like the catholic churches idea of anullments for indulgences, or i think its said something like that? how do "indulgences" work? (i might have missed that sacrament.)reply

An annulment from the court is separate and apart from an annulment from the Catholic Church. Even if a couple receives a divorce from the civil courts, the Catholic Church has the authority to annul the marriage upon presentation of proper grounds. If the marriage is annulled by the Catholic Church, the couple can re-marry others in the Church even though the civil court dissolved the marriage by divorce!reply - vlb927 2011/12/02 16:56:08Annulment+4Isn't Kardashian Lithawanianian for fraudreply

- ID51 2011/12/02 15:48:10Annulment+6Kim Kardashian seems to have been completely disingenuous with this sham of a marriage. It really appears to be a publicity stunt vs. a real marriage. I see no reason Kris Humphries should have to be divorced - when he was never really married.reply
