Stop the presses! Kim Kardashian appears to have a hickey, and it just might be from Kanye West. Despite the fact that Kim has psoriasis (a skin disease marked by red, itchy, scaly patches), TMZ says the red mark on her neck "DEFINITELY originated from Kanye West‘s mouth" -- or so "sources close to Kim’s neck confirm."

We are somewhat inclined to believe it's a hickey -- the mark was first seen the day after Kim and Kanye went on a movie date in NYC. (When asked by the "Today" show's Ann Curry if she and West are dating, Kim replied, "I completely respect and understand that you have to ask these questions, but as I've said before, Kanye and I have been friends for years. You know, you never know what the future holds or where my life will take me.")

So ... are hickeys making a comeback? Despite the fact that they seem very junior high, How About We provides a few reasons why people might still give (and receive) them:

1. They’re Reliving the Golden Days When Hickeys Were The Norm. The Golden Days where you knew nothing about your reproductive organs.

2. Actual Enjoyment. They might like how it feels to give a hickey, or they might want a hickey in return and hope their partner will return the favor.

3. Just Because They Can. People do stupid stuff all the time just because they can.

4. They’re Marking Their Territory. They might suck on if they want people in public to know, if they want to stir up the pot, or if they want to be kind of manipulative about ownership in the relationship.

Do you think hickeys "just happen" in the heat of the moment? Or are they a juvenile way to mark someone as your property? (We're talking to you, Kanye.)

The hickey. I answered hickeys are gross. That's a past time of teen years and even then it was sick. For a grown woman to act that way, well, that is gross too.

I like them, but they're unsightly. I always told my boy/girlfriends not to leave then above the neckline. What I find to be the most gross is that society cares enough to monitor Kim Cardashian's neck for damaged blood vessels.
