There was one guy in my college who never had a male teacher, barely attended class, but had a 3.6 average --- and fathered two children with his professors/associate professors. And this was back in 1965!

I graduated in 4.5 years with a 3.52 average and I drank at least two nights a week. The extra semester just gave me more fun! (Oh, and i earned all of my grades through studying and hard work. Work hard and play hard!)

I'm currently on track to, as are all of my friends. Except for a couple unfortunate souls, but they have a lot more and bigger problems going on than habitual binge drinking.
