My son got a wooden spoon slapped across his butt and he turned out just fine.

Peer pressure comes from people you respect. Most kids who argue with their parents don't respect them.

Okay first of all, if I ever argued with my mother the way the picture is showing my butt would've been red from spankings. Besides I was told since day one don't you ever do drugs, and let just say, mama didn't raise no fools.

Honestly, i tent to disagree with my family members (argue) at times i guess. I've never given into peer pressure. Yes, i have been asked to try smoking and cursing and i was raised with many people who smoke, did drugs, and drank around me. I used them to an advantage and learned from their mistakes rather than repeating them myself. Im proud to say iv never drunk, smoked, or done drugs

Indeed, it gives them reasoning ability and teaches them to be assertive.

My little sister is the most arguementive person I know, and she is clearly against drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes. She even nags me because I want to drink.

It only makes sense that kids who argue with their parents are more stubborn and have stronger personalities, which also makes them less likely to succumb to peer pressure. Of course that doesn't mean shouting and tantrums are good, but I think logical, calm argumentation should be encouraged. Submissiveness is never a good thing to instill in kids.

Kids should never shout at their parents. Shout at the wall if you want to control peer pressure.

    Arguing doesn't necessarily mean shouting.

i tend to argue with my parents but only cuz theyre immature, never stop trash tlkin eachother to me like petty children, and dont know how to raise a child. And i have never given into peer pressure. if i do somethin stupid or reckless its cuz i wanted to not cuz someone pressured me to. above peer pressure
