Botox is better and safer than lift surgeries. Doesnt leave a scar, and make you look subtly younger. Just dont over-do it or you get that "numb face" look that make people laugh at you, NOT with you, Kelly. Mrs Consuelos looks fantastic most days, BTW.

She is vain and overpaid. But if that's what she wants to spend her money on, go for it. I'd rather age gracefully like Helen Mirren or Diane Keaton. Geez, a few wrinkles aren't going to kill you!

A girl I work with loves that stuff. We've worked together for three years, and she looks like she's aged ten (overuse of tanning beds might have something to do with it also). Vanity can be self-defeating.

But I understand why she would. A lot of pressure is put on women in our society to look young, and while I don't agree with it, I can see why it could influence an insecure woman who was constantly scrutinized under the public eye to have botox. I'd rather fight the idea than go along with it, but to each their own, I guess.

My husband has that really deep crease between his eyes and that make him look like he is seriously pissed off all the time. He has done Botox for that, and it really helps. He is a lawyer, and a lawyer with a perpetual frown is not a good thing.

My best friend used to work for a plastic surgeon, and once I did get a botox shot like between my eyebrows. It was a little disconcerting, like a needle was going THERE, and I guess it worked ok, but that was one time, about 10 years ago and haven't had the urge since then to get more. My daughter gets it, and she seems to like going to do so. Kelly is paid a lot for her looks, so she must need to look a certain way. kelly ripa s botox

I would never have a face lift or a nose job or my lips made bigger etc. but I would have a little injection to fill in the cracks around the eyes and chin.

It is exceptional for problems like the people above have - I don't have all that going on around my eyes and forehead. First time I had it just above my eyebrows, an it was like a little mini eye lift, and I liked the way it looked. But it's never worked that way since.

I have had some spider veins done on my legs, they used a small needle and it hurt I can't imagine needles put around my eyes that would hurt I hate needles!! LOL I'm working to get my courage up wish me luck :-)

I am needle phobic - just don't look and think about it as an adventure. The needle are tiny and barely pierce your skin - really, it's not bad. I think doing veins would be a lot more painful than a little prick around your eyes. I didn't find it painful at all. Someone who is good at injecting it can give you a lifted look in certain places on your face which I like.

looking good should be achieved by doing something healthy not something toxic
  • fcombs JERSEYDUDE 2012/08/10 20:44:53

Lots of things that are toxic are used in pharmaceuticals - it's brought down to pharmaceutical grade and is quite safe. In fact, I have a medical problem known as interstitial cystitis which can be quite disabling in that it is so painful, and some docs have been using Botox to calm the bladder spasms of IC patients. So "bad" can sometimes be good if used properly.

I don't think so. I have good genes, and I don't think I need it yet; once you start getting Botox, you have to keep it up. The young people today are starting it too young. Just the way I feel.

People that have that done look weird if it's overdone. And they also seem to have a lazy eye where one blinks before the other one does. Have you ever noticed? (Love you Joan Rivers! Muah!) But hell no! I would rather age gracefully and treat my wrinkles with simple moisturizer. Apparently it works for now 53 yrs. old Susanna Hoffs of the Bangles who looks amazingly youthful and natural. And she looks even better than most women that are younger too! So I'm going her route. At least she can still move her facial muscles around and not look "frozen" like some of these other celebrities do.

I can't say yes or no because I have no definite answer. Right now I think I would never do it, but what about in 30 years? Maybe I'll feel differently, who knows. But for now the answer is a resounding "no."

It freezes your muscles! I would freak out if I couldn't raise my eyebrows. That would significantly impair my ability to deliver exasperated looks to idiots.

I like growing up and I'm not afraid to look my age. I don't understand why people would lie about their age, or be afraid of gray hair, or try to stop something so natural by putting toxic chemicals in your body! It's okay to grow older, EVERYONE does it. And anyway it not going to stop the pending doom of age.

And ANOTHER thing Botox DOES NOT make you look younger it makes you look like you're in a perpetual hurricane simulator. And that makes you look ridiculous!
