Kelly Clarkson has been battling her weight -- or the media has been buzzing about it -- pretty much since she was crowned the first American Idol back in 2002. But the 30-year-old singer looked slimmer (and hotter) than ever when she performed "Dark Side" at Sunday night's Billboard Music Awards, wearing a revealing hot-pink cutout gown (pictured on the right hand side of the photo below.)

Professionally, Clarkson will next be seen on Thursday's premiere of the new singing competition show "Duets," along with co-stars Robin Thicke, Jennifer Nettles and Lionel Richie. Personally, she has a steady boyfriend, 35-year-old talent manager Brandon Blackstock, which is affecting her songwriting (and not necessarily in a good way).

"It is killing me," Clarkson told People. "I'm trying to write a tough song and it is coming out like butterflies and rainbows. It is ruining my creativity. I'm writing all this happy [stuff]." But while Clarkson is looking sexier than ever, don't expect to see her teetering around in Christian Louboutins. "I don’t want to wear no stiletto," she said. "I am not a model and I am not Beyoncé. It is not going to happen."

It's probably just the picture, but I don't see any difference. But she does look a lot better in the picture on the right. If she did lose weight, good for her.

Amazing talent regardless of her size, but it's a pity she doesn't have better fashion sense. Both dresses are pretty hideous on her. The first one accentuates her naturally pear shaped body and the second one just looks like a red tow sack with no style. Where are all the great dress designers? She deserves better than this.

it intimidates me a little when a woman is bigger than me..(about 75% of them are xD) but I guess that makes some women more attractive.. it depends a lot on their personality

It's always good to watch your weight. Even if you're just a little chubby, you should try to keep yourself healthy. I think it's great that she's taking on a healthier lifestyle. She's beautiful. I've always been a fan of hers. (=

She actually looked better with some extra weight. She doesn't have a body type that looks good when she's thin. She;s losing her tits and ass first. Her stomach doesn't look good still. Just keep it on.

The picture is showing that the the one with more weight is curvier and sexier. She looks good in the other picture of her slimmed down but the one on the left looks best.

She looked very cute and interesting when she was on American Idol with her slim figure, but when I saw her perform "Mr. know it all" on the Grammys I thought to myself, this girl really ate too many fast foods. instead of a mermaid figure she now has the figure of a sea cow's. Image is important to her career so If i were her I'd definitely slim down to what I used to be.

She doesn't have the looks or the figure like some of the popular singers of the day, but she does have one hell of a voice and I like her just the way she is. If she is losing weight, good for her.
