Dyed my hair tons of different colors (currently a bright magenta type color) but I've never had a dark purple like Katy Perry has. I have had lighter purples though.

I've already been purple once for about a year..been there done that...I wouldn't dye it that color again though cause it did a lot of damage to my hair...cause you basically have to bleach it white blonde first which is way unhealthy...I did it like a violet purple it was very BEAUTIFUL AND DARING AND SHOWED MY RISK TAKING NATURE...I'M PRETTY DARING...AND I DON'T GIVE A DAMN WHAT OTHERS THINK OF ME :)

I'd say either a purple or a blue, like Deep Purple, or Blue Velvet from amphigory.com. I like red, but I don't think I have the coloring for it, I might try Amphigory's Atomic Pink, though, maybe Nuclear Red or Hot Lava would work...

The thing is when is see people with pink, blue, and purple hair, i'm just like "Oh my goodness! Why would you ever?" But when i see Katy Perry with it i'm just like "Oh, she looks good!" She's the exception.

if anything i would only dye my tips pink or something as for the whole head of hair it's a little much. i have considered doing it all that plum color though that's really pretty. it would severely wash my face out if i went any brighter... i couldn't pull it off like some of these ladies lol
