It's the dress everyone was waiting for.

Kate Middleton finally married Prince William on Friday, looking every bit the part in a gown by Sarah Burton, the 36-year-old creative director of luxury British label Alexander McQueen.

The lacy, long-sleeved, full-skirted dress with a plunging neckline was, by all accounts, perfect. Conservative, formal and princess-like enough for the occasion, it was still modern and sexy, revealing Kate's tiny waist and full bust.

She also wore a gauzy, full veil, a Cartier tiara borrowed from the Queen and, somewhat surprisingly, left her hair half up, half down. She carried a very small bouquet of white blooms (sure to start a huge trend).

"I think it's magnificent," Vogue European editor at large Hamish Bowles told USA Today of the dress, comparing it to the one Grace Kelly wore when she wed Prince Ranier. It "entirely lived up to and exceeds anyone's expectations."

Thats her style and its just fine. Kate looked lovely in her dress, its classic, elegant, and timeless. There's notheing wrong with her dress, she wanted a simple dress ,and accessories, it worked for Kate.
Brides vary in taste, some like stapless, while others choose sleeves etc.... . A dress like Kate's can be jazzed up or plain, its on the bride.

Disappointing

It was a beautiful wedding and an elegant dress. What's important is that her choice was princess perfect for her. Yet, I was a little disappointed. I expected a little bit more.

Not only was her dress completely fit for her, so was her hair and makeup. I love the fact that they didn't overdo the look. Kate is naturally gorgeous so the fact that they had her look pretty natural was very pleasing. I think it reminded Wills exactly who he fell in love with: A real girl, not the palace barbie. And I'm greatly looking forward to see what Kate will do as Queen of England. I wish them the best of luck!

The thing that made this dress so stunningly gorgeous was how subtle the extravagance of it was. It seems very simple to a casual glance, but the lower-half of the skirt and the train are covered in gorgeous hand-made lace. I absolutely adored this dress...it was definitely worth staying up all night to watch.

loved the dress though :P i thought it looked classy
i like that somehow, as big as it was, it wasnt as extravagant as i expected

My wife went strapless at our wedding. And she looked HOT!!!!! Kate looks like that frumpy chick from "The Sound of Music"! Man, I hated that movie!

I completely thought that her sister's dress was more age appropriate as well but another thing that struck as a wrong note in her choice of gown, was the fact that it was more or less an imitation of Princess Grace's from so many decades earlier. Why didn't McQueen take a more modern and edgier approach, one wonders.
