Kate Middleton's Thigh-High Slit: Fit for a Queen-to-Be?

She is a young gorgeous woman. There is nothing "improper" about this dress. She looks great. Love it!

Very elegant and extremely appropriate outfit for a princess as opposed to the sensationalistic dress worn by Angelina Jolie. Unlike Angelina, Kate is only showing the lower part her well-toned calf and not her thigh. The dress is has a slit that seems to be thigh high but it is stitched down to the knee and hence, nothing above the knee will be exposed.

Angelina Jolie's slit was more to draw the attention that she needed as the pattern of the slit was totally different from the one that Kate Middleton had, although the height of the slit did look more or less the same.
Angelina's one was more split apart with a deliberate attempt to reveal flesh while Kates slit had an air of sophistication with atleast 2-3 inches of cloth cover making this slit more a knife pleat. Angelina's slit was no doubt the same type but the amount of material used to cover underneath was the trick to the code of decency.
Kates slit no doubt a bit raunchy for British standards too, but was a lot more toned down when compared to the Bite I am Sexy on the Leg look of Angelina's one. I would personally choose to wear a Knife Pleat slit dress but more in keeping with Kate's design as it has the class which befits decent glamour that accentuates the charisma of the wearer while Angelina sold out for the jaw dropping sex appeal to draw attention which she desperately needs in a bid to get back on top of her sagging movie acting career.

She is young, beautiful and has gorgeous legs, and the slit was fine. She looked elegant and more than a little sexy. Nothing wrong with that.

She has much more poise and grace than any Hollywood starlet. She didn't throw her bare leg out in such an exagerated, undignified manner like Angelina Joli!

No kidding - she is a classy and poised young woman, and my guess a much higher moral code than the majority of Hollywood residents.

I think she looks lovely. She's young so leave her be. The Royals hand down clothes from years back. Before Diana died the Princes wore modern clothes including jeans. After her death they were dressed in old fashioned tweed jackets and flannel trousers, which could have been worn by their father years ago. Kate knows what she likes and wears it. Good for her. There are enough stuffed shirts in the Royal Family .

She is not a queen yet but a princess. Princesses are supposed youthful, let her have her youth.

It's not really a thigh high slit. There are four or five inches of fabric overlapping which does not allow the slit to be anything less than demure.
This isn't the 50s anymore where girls in private school are lectured about how even a slip strap showing can cause a man to become an rapist therefore we must follow the example of Queen Elizabeth who has weights sewn in her hems to prevent her skirts from blowing up.
