That's an extremely fallacious argument. First of all, no, the rest of the world doesn't. That's a gross generalization. Second, just because someone says something is true, doesn't mean it's true.

You're mixing the recognized with the understood. Like I said, it's not that no one recognizes the fact that these people consider themselves royalty, but you'd have to be hard pressed to say the majority consider them innately superior (royal).

I guess I suffer from being a curmudgeon, I don't care what the royals do. To me it is news about nothing. Blather as I call it. The fluff stuff that great reporters and journalists ignore. Perhaps it is because we have the instant communication and there is nothing of value taking place, or because it is just too cutesy, whatever boring.

Because it "works" for them, but really, with what parliament has done to royal power, there really isn't a monarch anymore. It's just for show at this point.
