That's really good! I hope your lawn manages to live.

Lol, the lawn can die for all I care. It's the food crops I worry 'bout these days, but thank you for the good thoughts, Walt. ;-)

I worry about the lawn because I paid for $850 worth of grass seeds, had it disked up, spread the seed myself and went to a hell of a lot of trouble wetting it down for over six weeks, but I know what you mean. Food is more important than a pretty lawn.

Did mine mostly by hand. There are areas on the property with standing grass gone to seed. Just went and harvested it, and applied it to prepped soil or bare spots. Free, but for the labor.

Been hand watering the garden every nite, just to keep it alive. Now, a good soaker! :-)

    the corn here is curled-
and the wrong shade of dull green-
a very bad thing at its young stage-

we have a 70% chance tomorrow...
    but only half an inch-

we hit the high 90s too-
    with dry wind-
    a few days back-
    not good ...
    for may in illinois-

Not very far from you, and we've suffered the same. Hay yield, drought and cutter worms, less then half.
