Just curious, do you naval types get sick on destroyers and such like tourists do on cruise liners?

And I don't mean sea-sickness. You know, that unexplained virus that seems to keep cropping up on cruise liners. We never hear about the Navy having such a problem.
You!

Went on a company deep sea fishing trip once. The only guy that got sick was the only old Navy man, go figure.

Don't know about any virus but it's always best to bring your own anti-bacterial hand wash when you travel. Germs pop up all over no matter where you're at but being captive increases you chance of exposure.

As far as the other type of sickness,... Dramamine (Dimenhydrinate) is my best friend.

My dad doesn't. Though, I don't know much about his JG days on the Roosevelt...

Trust me they do, I was stationed on a cruiser when we had been in hurricane conditions for days.

We all were trying to hide the best we could, it's a macho thing, but at evening chow chicken was on the menu, unfortunately, it was under cooked. When I took my first bite, blood oozed out.

I know my face must have turned white and like stone. I didn't barf because I covered it up and ate just the dehydrated potatoes.

One table over, they weren't so lucky, one guy had bitten into the chicken and barfed all over his tray. That was all it took...the whole table followed suit. lol

I got out there fast to maintain my 'macho status'.
