I noticed something, the richest nations have the most deals ?? There are times that politics play a part in some countries winning ? I wonder if there is any truth in it ??

Good graphic, I learned something I did not know before today. (Brazil might be good at football but they don't have a lot of medal at the Olympics).

Hmm. Never thought I'd find something on Sodahead that was actually informative. I guess I've been proven wrong. This was a great post, keep it up.

Amusing how the wrestler is depicted as an ape, but the boxer is shown with a regal posture.

Wrestling was for the slaves and barbarians, boxing was for free men.

Interesting! I'm not much up on the history of such sports. It does seem that boxers take a worse beating, though.

I wish they would return the games to just those events whose victor can be determined by objective measures and take politics and subjectivity out of the picture. Other events should be termed "quasi-olympic".

Would be interesting see the total number of medals won relative to population (not that I'm calculating this'll put Team GB out on top or anything! :)

Yeah, not that the OZ team would win either, but I think we are doing pretty well seeing as we have a population 1/10 that of the US and our tally is about 1/5.

I am disappointed that we don't have more Islamic sports,... like wife beating, beheading, and goat blanking.

Go Team Everyone! Do well and stay in the game, keep your hopes and dreams attached so you know what you are striving for, whether your dream is to win the gold, happy to just be competing, for peace and honor, or to make someone or some people that are special to you proud. This is the game that the Gods and Goddesses themselves honored.

I like to see the column of women participation going from 0 to nearly equal that of male Olympians.
