Some individuals would argue that competitive eating is wasteful and may have adverse health issues for participants. On the other side, the amount of food wasted is minimal compared to what one U.S. family throws out on a daily basis. Further, some would say that competitive eating is purely for entertainment and is a tradition that has been carried on for years. Do you think competitive eating is OK? Or should it be banned due to health issues and waste?

just not encouraged . . .
it's a public display of gluttony and pointless.
I recommend substituting it with a public water balloon fight.
That way more people can be involved (and have their aggressions alleviated in a fun way)
I'm not a fan of hot dogs per se, but I could probably competitively chow on some pizza. Preferably Sicilian; the square slices.
There's a local brand, DiCarlo's; best it the whole damn world. They're all over the place around here. If you're ever in the upper Ohio Valley/Nothern Panhandle of WV/Eastern Ohio area and see one, give it a try. You won't be sorry. DeFelice pizza is really good, too. They're also local. It was actually voted the Best Pizza in America several years running, at a national competition.
Keep fighting the good fight...I am with you!
