Luke 6:27 “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also.

Romans 12 “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Wish good for those who harm you; wish them well and do not curse them.

Matthew 5:44
But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you

luke 9:54Lord, do You wish us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them
? But He turned and rebuked and severely censured them. Jesus said, You do not know of what sort of spirit influences you, For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them

Ephesians 4:30 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

John14;27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

You are going to get a lot of answers stating yes. Ironically, though, many, MANY, will gladly applaud war with Iran as they have every other war in their lifetimes, ironically making the claim these things are done in the name of peace.

Basically what I'm saying is that the Christian thing to do with criminals is to (if their crime is serious enough for jail time) treat them with such kindness that they are amazed at how they are treated.

For whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does NO HARM to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:8-10

I think you are misunderstanding me...I do agree with the teachings of Christ. But to sum it up...Christ tells us that this is a perfect world to live in this manner yet he goes on to warn us also that we will be demonized for fallowing him & he also warns us that we will be killed for his name sake. So again I say..there is a time for love & a time for war.Jesus teaches us to love...yet he also leads us to the facts that there are limits to how far one should go. For instance...even God will only knock on your door for so long. HIS door is always open but he will only knock on yours for so long!

I stand at the door & knock open & I shall enter unto you...this answers part of your question...Yes I believe we should love eachother...but also we are warned that evils in our world. Where God is rejected then evil can exist...Hitler, etc.
Jesus also tells us to spread the good news but if it isnt excepted then we are to leave & shake the dust from our feet!!! This tells you that there must be limits right? Love their souls but you can hate their ways!

Yes, leave it to the Son of the Most High to really shake things up for us children of Yahweh. Jesus said to THINK it, whatever it is, is a sin. Whoa, NO WAY! How is that fair? Achieving a spiritual level that's different from others is worth that discipline.

I want that. I want ALL His promises. Scripture also says to lean NOT to your own understanding.

I attended a Bible study this morning with my neighbor and a women named Mary mentioned supernatural acts of Jesus. The teacher, taking the word supernatural out of her context, sweetly condemned her statement of supernatural, much to my concern.

I gently reminded him of the hand that wrote a message on a wall in the presence of a King, Balaam's donkey, who after seeing the angel of the Lord in the road stopped, at which time Balaam, a false prophet, beat the donkey for not proceeding. Which the donkey spoke to him in his language, asking why he beat him.

Then there's Jesus walking on water.

Jesus arriving before a boatload of apostles who thought to arrive in the city first.

Jesus first miracle, water into wine.

The raising of Lazarus, the volumes of people who were healed of various conditions and diseases.

Lepers, the withering of the fig tree. There isn't anything He cannot do.

Think I'll stick with Him, He hasn't let me down yet.

I agree entirely. Turning the other cheek doesn't mean let people do whatever and don't defend yourself, although, that's sort of what Jesus did on the cross. He let people spit on him, curse him, whip him, stab him, slap him, and abuse him. But Jesus did this knowing that it would all be repaid, that, by him suffering, it meant that those who accepted the gift he sacrificed for, could go to heaven. In the garden, he prayed and asked God if there was any other way, if he could save him; but Jesus also said, "Not my will, but thine." It's better to act with words of kindness and good deeds than with words of hate and with violence, even if it seems impossible at times. All you have to do is ask for God's help, and he will.
