Jessica Simpson Finally Gives Birth, Names Daughter Maxwell Drew: Love It or Hate It?

After what felt like the longest pregnancy in history, Jessica Simpson finally gave birth to a baby girl on Tuesday morning. The name? Maxwell Drew Johnson. But how much does the newborn weigh? Find out at :50 in the video below. Trust us, it's a doozy.

That's one big baby! According to Us Weekly, Maxwell's middle name honors Jessica's maternal grandmother, Tina Simpson, whose maiden name is Drew. And as for the unisex first name itself, well, that's Jessica's fiance's middle name.

Simpson, 31, was VERY open (sometimes too open) throughout her pregnancy. ("I just started calling myself Swamp Ass," she told Jay Leno of sweating through her maternity Spanx.) But she decided to hold off on tying the knot until the baby was born.

"Eric and I love each other so much, and knowing that I love this baby inside of me is so amazing -- I love it so much and I haven't even met them yet," she told Us Weekly. "I can't imagine how much love we'll have for it once it finally comes!" So ... what do you think of the name?

Drew is okay but she should've saved the Maxwell for a boy.

Call her "Max" for short. That would be pretty cute.

Some girls are already named Maxine, Max for short...I see nothing wrong with Maxwell. It's her baby, she can call her whatever she wants. Jessica will most likely be criticized no matter what she does.

It not what others think of it so much as what her daughter is going to say about it in 10 or 12 years! I can imagine that'll be one ugly scene.

Sure great for a BOY, jeez, come on now, there is nothing feminine about that name. Makes me think of Maxwell Smart the tv show. I had a baby 9lbs no biggie.

Maxwell Drew is a boy's name. It sounds absolutely awful on a girl. I really don't care for the giving little girls boy's names trend, and this one is just awful.

Not crazy about the name but it would have been more appropriate if she had a boy. They could have called him Max. But now what? Maxwell for a girl?? It's not as bad as some of the other celebrity baby names but it's hardly a winner. When she's old enough to figure out she has a cousin named Bronx Mowgli Wentz she'll be alright though. When you become a celebrity do they suck all the common sense out of your brain?

Gender neutral names are fine as soon as someone gives birth to a gender neutral baby! Until that happens...stop f*ckin' acting like there is no difference between males and females and name your kids appropriate names! G-d this society has lost its mind! People even get mad now when you paint a baby girl's room pink or a boy's room blue. What is happening?!

I totally agree. It's ridiculous and totally out of control. Besides that it is making it so you can't be who you are anymore, if who you are is not weird, not taboo or not way out there. Traditional ANYTHING now equals WRONG. And I'm sooo sick of it.

Why in the world would you give your daughters name a guys name? You could have at least switched the names around and come close to a girls name. Jeez Jessica
