Jaws is Back on Cape Cod's Truro Beach: Would You Go Swimming After a Shark Attack?

You!

Sounds a lot like the script of "Jaws." There was a recent shark attack on a Cape Cod beach... Really? I, for one, would never swim at a beach that had a recent shark attack -- recent being within the last 10 years -- but some people seem to shrug it off and hop right in the water. Would you swim at Truro Beach?

FOXNEWS.COM reports:
Several Cape Cod, Massachusetts towns are taking steps to beef up their protocol to inform lifeguards and protect swimmers against possible shark attacks on their shores.

Sharks are at every beach in America. Maybe not a Great White, but Tiger etc will always be around. Take a ride in a helicopter if you get the chance. Lol It's an Eye Opener! Their home, not ours. If you go to the beach to swim, you're swimming with sharks. Good thing that we don't taste good.

Although I would not go swimming, I would not stay away from the beach. I might try to find a tide pool. These are always enjoyable and fun.

Here in Florida Shark attacks are some what common---usually humans swimming where and when they shouldn't.
That said if you para-sail over a beach get ready for an eye opener---you will see sharks all over the place

the sea is the home of all sharks. its their territory, not yours. ofcourse if you go looking for them for danger, then thats stupidity. but even the "safe" waters include sharks.

Grew up in Hawaii; was sort of born in the water and was at home there... Yes, saw sharks, saw what they could do and did do... They tried to take fish that I had speared and tied to my line or stuck down in my pants or placed in my deep pockets and as I got older and shot larger fish placed them on a long line so they (the speared fish) would float further away from us as we continued to dive and went into caves and pulled lobsters and whatever we could pull for the day... Never gave it a second thought, maybe if one took off my foot or arms or leg or hauled me about in it's mouth and if I lived, I would maybe be a tad more aware, but on the other-hand, nah... Same person as I was when I was growing up and when I was a younger man diving and swimming and surfing and body-surfing and just being in the waters... And frankly, I think we stink and the majority of times, they release, like if God told them they had made a mistake or something, or it was their way of just tasting to see if we gotten better tasting! Hey, only kidding, we stink, but if they are really hungry and provoked can do and have swallowed a few chunks of flesh... But do not let that disturb you, it was always the other person, the other guy so to speak!

There are all friendly and if they appear to being coming towards you, just remember, an arm is better then a leg to give; you can adjust better with them sucking on your fingers first and if they taste you and not bite down too hard, you will adjust better! It is that sucking action that causes alarm and jerking your arm and extension back too hard is what causes that ripping motion and sound that makes you think that they want all of it and that is where the damage starts and the hunger pains set in, forget the panic and the blood, that comes only when you jerk back hard! Just allow them to suck on it and swim along! Ouchy! (Yes, just kidding!)

We've had the world's second largest population of GWS in the Bay of Maine for forever. This is the first attack since like 1916 or so? Sure, I'll go swimming, why not?

No, JAWS has set me against swimming in the ocean for life! I did take a few tentative steps into the ocean when I visited San Diego last year but as I stood there on the beach and the waves rolled over my feet, I got a cold shiver down my back! I quickly backed away from the water. I know 'scardie cat'

If you ride on a plane over the gulf coast beaches, you will see plenty of sharks in and amoung people swimming. Even if you snorkle along the shallows you will come across sharks. When I was younger, While dating, I regularly swam at night on the beach. Ah Romance.
