A 50-year-old British mother, Janet Cunliffe, spent $15,000 (USD) in surgeries to look young and hotter than her 28-year-old daughter Jane Cunliffe. Janet and Jane now look like twins and this is so wrong in many levels.

Money well spent? Janet Cunliffe looks great but why is she trying to be like her daughter? To top this all of, mom and daughter go out clubbing together and we all know who will be getting all the guys... the mom.

I don't have a problem with her choice to have cosmetic surgery, but trying to look like your daughter instead of just looking the best you can seems a little sick to me. It sounds like she is going through an identity crisis of some sort which is fine, but she is intruding on her daughter's identity which is not fine.

Hey at least the docs did a good job. What a risk! Most surgeries that require such a drastic result don't turn out well at all. If I were rich and looking a mess I wouldn't do it just because of the fear of having that "I got plastic surgery" look that all the stars seem to have. The look is usually so generic. But she actually looks natural. Her lips have defintion and all. She still looks older in the eyes but that actually helps pull it off. So congradulations. But the whole club thing, I think she should be her daughters mom and get friends her own age.

I would say good for the mom, but to try to look LIKE her daughter - uhm, I don't like the idea. I have two beautiful daughters 22 and 28 and I assure you, I don't want to look their age, I just want to look good as a 48 year old. Mostly I want to feel good and be healthy.

Though it doesn't look like she paid to have the age spots on her legs removed. She should have been proud of her age. Probably worked hard to get there and earned every one of her wrinkles. I know my mom earned hers.

I feel sorry for both. The mom sounds like a bubble brain who is unable to make the best of her situation. A 50 year old can look better, and far more interesting than a much younger woman, but mamma can only see the superficial end of things. This is an incredibly stupid and witless way to compete.

Be a real mom and let your daughter be real daughter.
Mom's should grow gracefully and let daughter's grow up to be the best they can be. Daughter's do not need competition from Mother's.

Not saying anything about the way she looks but that there shouldn't be any competition between Mom and daughter.
I am looking down the line when men will be in the picture for either of them and the relation start going south.
Maybe this will work for both of them. I only wish them well......

You assume a rivalry and it's not here - the women are at different places in their lives. After forty a woman has a hormonal change, not a menopause yet, but a burning desire to build a family, her nesting instinct, diminishes significantly. Of course, she would not destroy an existing family, if it contradicts her children interest, a maternal instinct is forever. But if she is free, she is not looking for ability to commit anymore. So, the mother wants to have fun and her daughter wants a long-term relationship - they need different men.

You haven't seen the mom in person and the eyes of people still look older for some reason even when the face shows not one wrinkle. Kind of like a 30 year old has none but you know she isn't 18.

It is so wrong for your mom to try to look like you and want to party with your daughter. Regardless of how good she looks she is the mother and is never going to be the age of the daughter. It is just creepy.

There is another case exactly like this, but the looked amazing.. not saying these two don't. But why feel the need to spend so much money on changing yourself, let alone look like your daughter. I suppose she's flattered.

I feel sorry for the "hot" mom seriously you are so insecure with yourself that you have to make yourself look like your daughter. Im sure the daughter is thrilled that people will be hitting on her mom and not her. This should do well for the daughters self esteem. If you don't like nature then change the nature of things. As humans we have the ability to make improvements on nature, good or bad, right or wrong, I am not the judge but she looks pretty goo right now. It is the future that will be against her and the new habits she forms, like future surgeries to keep her looks and the complications that arise from the lack of skin left and muscle tissue breaking down.
After so many surgeries she'll be nothing but a wrinkled body and a stretched ear to ear smile.

Not necessarily. I had a friend who died a beautiful woman at the age of 84, and she was always going in for such surgery for the over 20 years that I knew her. She apparently had the money, and went to the best. Money talks.
