It's time D.C. understood: 'This Is Our America'?
Las Vegas businessman Sam Gladstein is fed up with corruption and political posturing in Washington while the government – and the cost of maintaining it – grows out of control.
So the 48-year-old husband and father of three recalled his experience as a former audio engineer and expressed his frustration the only way that felt right: by creating a song, a song he now hopes will become the anthem of the critical 2012 election.
The country-flavored tune “This Is Our America” challenges Americans to rise up and demand their elected representatives remember who’s boss: the people.
“This is a call to all y’all to give it what you got,” the lyrics sing, “and remind them boys in Washington of the things that they forgot. They spin around and tell us all to take what they decide, but friends, it’s time we had our say and sang it aloud with pride: ‘This is our America!’”
