It seems like there's a "day" for everything, but we can't think of a cocktail more deserving of its own day than the margarita. Yep, today is National Margarita Day, according to TODAY.com, which gives us a good excuse to enjoy a cold one our favorite way: classic, on the rocks, with salt.
There's a reason why Jimmy Buffett devoted an entire song to the margarita. The cocktail, consisting of tequila mixed with orange-flavored liqueur and lime or lemon juice, makes any occasion feel like a summer party -- and it's a great way to enjoy tequila without downing nasty shots. Some people like margaritas frozen or flavored, but we kind of think that's the wimpy way to enjoy them.

Another thing we love about margaritas? The food that comes with it. Margaritas go perfectly with burritos, fajitas, nachos, guacamole and everything else that's Mexican and delicious. In fact, the only other alcoholic drink we like almost as much when we're chowing down on Mexican food is a Corona with lime.
