My family believes in the lord Jesus Christ, and God. They are Christians.
I am an agnostic, but my loyalty lies with the religious and not secular socialists.
I will vote to protect religion, which is a basic and necessary foundation for this great nation.
It may be just another day for some, a silly holiday for others... but in reality, for me it is a Holiday to celebrate with my Family & Friends as well as with God or who ever you worship. You may be 'non-religious' (aka atheist), but I am sure you still celebrate Easter one way or another anyways.
I see it as a just any other holiday to celebrate with the ones that you love: Family & Friends.
No, I don't go to church anymore for Resurrection Sunday, Church has become to much like high school and not about God so I do not attend. I do not need to go to church to love God. I spend time with my family and I do an Easter Basket for my son but I have God in my life everyday, every day is a celebration this day isn't any different.
*shrugs* Almost every holiday has roots in paganism or roots in Native American culture. Doesn't mean a person cannot believe in God just because Easter was and is celebrated by other religions or non religions. Many atheists give their children baskets they do believe in the Pagan or Christian view of the holiday. And that is just fine. Don't bash all Christians just because many are are rude to people that don't believe the way they do, not all of us are like that.
holidays are a part of culture. it's pretty hard not to let children collect eggs in the backyard or give them gifts in December for that reason alone.
I just think it's silly that Christians go around acting like Easter and Christmas have anything to do with Christianity. which they don't
It does to them, it is your right to believe what you wish as it is ours to believe what we want, just because it has roots in other religons and was named after them doesn't mean they are any less significant to Christians. At least some of us are nice and don't try to tell others what they believe is wrong.
Whatever you believe is fine with me just let others believe what they wish without being attacked. I have to say every religion has historic evidence Jesus existed--Jewish, Muslim, Christian etc, even science arees so to say he didn't exist is just a way for you to try to get attention in my opinion---that's fine, I will talk to you if your lonely
If I assume he existed, that does not mean he is what christians say he is or was. If I choose not celebrate, so freaking what? You want to celebrate? Guess what? Makes no difference to me. Believe or not believe in whatever you wish. Religion is a personal choice.
Just saying what's the harm in raising a class on Easter but To say Jesus never excised goes against 99.9% of the historians beliefs. Then again maybe you have secret historical account from aliens. Hell most Atheist don't even make that claim. By the way, have you died ? If you haven't there is NO way you can say with certainty there is no God but your FAITH is impressive.
If he did exist, he was just a man like you and me. BTW, have you died? No? Then there is no proof of your god.
The simple fact is I do not believe jesus was the son of god so why the hell should I celebrate him in any form? If you want to force me to celebrate, then you are a lousy christian, a lousy American who has no idea what being an American is, and probably a lousy human being.
Hello and Praise God with me my brother ! He is risen ! He is alive !
We live through him ! All Glory to Jesus forever and ever !
Have a blessed Resurrection Day my brother : ))
