Nope, never did and my mom was Mexican. I'll just cook Mexican food when the urge to eat it strikes me.
Cinco De Mayo isn't even Mexican Independence day, it's just the battle of Puebla against the French. It started to become a big deal since the 1990s for something else to sell beer and stuff by retailers. That's IMHO.

I am not mexican, and I don't live in Mexico, so no, I won't.

I thought about "celebrating" their holiday the same way they celebrated ours-burning their flag and demanding "rights" their nation doesn't give me. But since I don't live there, it just wouldn't hold the same punch.

When I was stationed in Germany from 1993-1998 I was surprised at how the germans celebrated faching week. All the men wore ties and if a women cut your tie, meaning she wanted to sleep with you. Women would also take off their wedding band and drop it in your drink also mean it was your lucky night. It was fun and Hilarious week. If you are in the military please go to other countries and appreciate their culture. I know I did. The best 5 years of my life.

Fine if you are of Mexican heritage, I don't know why anyone other than a Mexican would celebrate it though. Guess everyone needs an excuse to party.

I believe it. Not even the Mexicans in Mexico really celebrate Cinco de Mayo like Mexican Independence. It's more commercialization to sell stuff and party etc.
