It's Cinco De Mayo! Will You Be Celebrating Mexican Culture Today?

In the San Francisco Bay Area, the 5th of May is NOT for everyone. In San Jose, the local Law Enforcement Angencies and the Santa Clara Sheriff's Office are all anticipating murders and vicious-attacks, and mostly attacks on young females, by traditional male-revelers; "all in the name of something." . . . . . . In San Francisco, there will be several puddles of vomit and various varieties of "colorful barf" on the sidewalks; mostly around public bus stops, and on corners where there will be lots of cigarette-smoking and mostly young men between the ages of 16 and 35; just standing there and talking and making chuckling comments back-and-forth about women exiting busses and crossing in cross-walks, etc. There is always a tremendous amount of garbage and slop, and filth on the Streets of San Francisco; most likely in the Mission District, but not necessarily in that particular locale; it can actually be strewn-about EVERYWHERE. I have never really understood the celebration. I personally just do NOT understand what it has to do with the United States of America.

I dislike Mexican culture actually. I don't care for their art nor dances.

However, I will honor them by going to a wonderful mexican restaurant.

We dont' celebrate that in the woods.

I being Mexican-born find this to be another pointless holiday for people to get drunk & dumb. Besides, it is not a 'true' Mexican Holiday anyways. I rather celebrate a more Important Mexican holiday which is September 16th: Mexico's Independence Day.

If its so "independent" why do so many slither over the border and live off our Government and out taxes?

I'm Mexican but, we really don't celebrate Cinco de Mayo, we celebrate 16 de Septiembre, the Mexican Independence Day.

Now we have two excuses to get plastered.

Since I'm an American and not an illegal mexican NO. Unless we celebrate by throwing them back across the border.

I saw it. He seems to forget that Mexicans/Hispanics are the largest number of illegals and most obnoxious when it comes to demanding we give them everything in Spanish and allow them to stay for breaking the law.
