Hamburgers, hot dogs, yum yum yum! While we celebrate our nation's independence on the Fourth of July, we also celebrate some good eatin' -- specifically, some good grillin'.

But while meat usually takes center stage -- even if it's faux meat, like veggie burgers and tofurkey -- the side dishes are important, too. According to a poll on CookingLight.com, potato salad is Americans' favorite healthy BBQ side dish, surpassing coleslaw, pasta salad and baked beans (we'd like a little of all four, please!).
While we tend to avoid hot dogs these days (nitrates are scary) and we try not to consume TOO much red meat, on the Fourth, we often treat ourselves to a juicy cheeseburger. Grilled fish is delicious, too -- and we have a weakness for those red, white and blue fruit pies -- but it just doesn't feel like the Fourth unless you're chowing down on a burger or a dog. So, now you know what we'll be eating ... what's your favorite thing to eat on the Fourth of July?

A whole lot of meat with the same great taste.
Wash it all down with sweet iced tea & banana pudding for dessert.
Now your talkin' Dixie.
