Is Your Neighborhood Dangerous?

i live out in the middle of no where

I wanted that when i was looking around for a home...the option wasn't there but i'd say that's an enviable situation.

it is nice.

Very rural and peaceful....no violence, no robberies....no crime....we don't even have a police station in our tiny rural area. Shreveport, La. is about 40 min. away and there's murders and homicides every day....I live in a great place to raise a family.

I actually DON'T have it better than the rest....I live with my son and his family....I'm retired but have very little money coming in....I have no health insurance, no vehicle and was laid off from my part-time job....my family is going thru their on trials and challenges....I simply make the most of each moment, and find happiness in the simple things, like the laughter of my grandkids, fresh mowed grass or a summer thunderstorm....I'm also very blessed and thankful, this time last yr. I was laid up with two broken ankles.....what a blessing it is to be able to walk and take care of myself....no matter what you are going thru....you have to find the magic and beauty in life...

It's especially nice to see you take that view and not let the short comings determine your overall outlook :) Glad you're back on your feet :D

It used to be really nice, but more stuff is happening now.

that happenes so often, in my parents' neighborhood too. we should've nailed the first nasty loser moving into the area and made him move, not allowing things to get so bad the good ones end up leaving :(

All neighborhoods are dangerous these days. A return to the Constitution might help especially in controling the Destapo Police of Obama's DOJ. Well, Hell, you could do better without the Maoist head of it.

The number of safer neighborhoods is certainly in the minority. There are a lot of contributing factors that place pressure on people, turning reactions into violence and theft - sociologists would say - but I've had to struggle for long periods, more than once, and never turned to crime as a resolve so, from my POV, it's not largely a poltical issue as much as individual decisions...they have the option to strive as others or pull a gun with the latter being the dumber move.

No where is completely safe and I take precautions just in case. But, my neighborhood is really quiet.

I agree with the thought surprises take place, even in the nicest neighborhoods...it's a smart and good thing to be aware of the environment and atmosphere - keep that attitude :D please.

Quite the contrary, I live in a very quiet peaceful neighborhood. We all tend to look out for each other. It is as safe as it gets.

It's a shame we can't dump problem people on their own expansive island and let them diminish and harrass their population instead of ours. Glad life's good for you ;)

It's only a little dangerous when one of these shows up.

Oh, yeah, it is, lol. I like being surrounded by nature - small town life allows for it - but I'm fine passing-up the risky version lol.

I was born in CT, moved to AR, then back to CT. I haven't been on this site in awhile xD
There are still a lot of very rich parts of CT, though. We still have Westport and Greenwich.

Welcome back to New England :D I hope, for your sake, the city government turns things around in an aggressive way, soon because once troublemakers get hold, they're hard to shake loose.

Except for the bears. We got to wearing little bells and caring pepper spray. And leaning to tell between baby bear and big bear poop! The baby bear poop has berries in it. The big bear poop has little bells ans smells a lot like pepper!

LOL...that's a worry :D

I now live in the country, I only have two neighbors, they are farmers who raise cattle and horses, they are more likely to shoot a thug than be one.

I wish them luck in getting as many as they can in their sites ;)

It's nice enough does not do it justice. There are only 53 homes in a private park with fantastic overview of the city. I feel as if I live in the penthouse at the top of a building when actually they are all free standing homes with balconies.
