Is Willow Smith Too Young to Get Her Tongue Pierced?

Willow Smith is at it again. The 11-year-old superstar-in-the-making appears to have a tongue piercing in a photo she posted to her Instagram account. But, not so fast. A source close to Willow Smith tells Gossip Cop that the large silver ball "isn’t a piercing -- it is a magnet. Just a young girl having fun with accessories." Still, it looks pretty real to us...

willow smith tongue piercing

Willow, the daughter of Will and Jada Pinket Smith, already has several piercings in her ears, and is known for her colorful hairstyles and fashions. She's gearing up to play Annie in a remake of the 1982 movie -- and we really can't picture Annie with a tongue ring.

Meanwhile, we doubt Will and Jada would let their young daughter pierce her tongue. Will recently said, "When Willow does bring a boy home, I’m going to screen him and find out everything about him. And that’s going to happen when she’s 40, when she’s allowed to go on dates!" Do you think Willow is too young to get her tongue pierced?

That is true, but still.. it's much more acceptable than 11 years old. At least she has entered her teenage years. Either way the piercing is fake.

A pierced tonuge is for sexual activities and at times to look cute, but not on a girl this age, much too young

It's up to her parents. If they're okay with it, nobody else's opinion matters.

I believe that at 11 years old, you are too young to get your tongue pierced. You may change your mind, or even regret getting one.

But, she's not my kid, so it's not my problem or my choice for her. It's her parents.

I like the way you think. This should be how everyone else thinks too,it'll stop a lot of conflicts from time to time. But then agian, there are some stupid parents, who for example, would let their 11 year old get a tongue piercing when it can be clearly seen that it'll be a mistake. (I'm not saying Will Smith is like that)

In my personal opinion. But I'd previously read that Will and Jada believe that their children should be in charge of their own bodies, which is something I really respect even if she is 'too young'.

I'm two sided on this one. If she wants it just for looks, that's fine. If she is going to use the ring for its real purpose, then yes I would say she is a little young.

Yep. In my opinion. But then that's my opinion.

It's not my job to judge what others let their kids do. But it sure in the hell wouldn't happen in my house.

All she did was buy a tongue ring, met people online, and left to their house to put that ring to use. Tell her I want my pants back.

It's about the risk of a serious infection. Tongue piercing is an adult choice. What's wrong with Will & Jada. They are ususally pretty smart but I think they dropped the ball on this one unless it really is just a magnet.

There is a line that should not be crossed at certain age. especially hers. If she is allowed to pierce her tongue at such a young age, what next? with kids who grow up in the spot tight, I it safer and more prudent to be more careful with how far you let them go or how much you let them get away with, otherwise you just don't know how they turn out.
I mean, it's hard enough when its an everyday kid. Add the pressure of fame on top of that and you have a whole new level of problems to deal with. You've got to think about all the harmful things they have access to as celebrities...

That kind of piercing is for a woman or at least a 16-17year old.. Growing up girls wanna have fun and we used to use those kind of magnets for our ears. No harm no foul at least they are experiencing it with magnets first.

would think so and I believe the stud can damage your teeth.
and never put magnets in your mouth if you them, you are in serious medical trouble

At eleven? I think it's too young. It's still in the early developmental age where you are easily caught up in the moment and wanting to either fit in or to stand out to garnish positive attention.
I'd say wait at least until 15 before talking about piercings. It's way to easy to get caught up in the moment and then regret it. Too much ability to do whatever you want can often lead you astray, back off and think it over.
Yeah I know the pic is of a magnet, but I'm just posting my two pennies.

Just realized that, SH did it to me again....Why can't they allow a change in votes or at the very least have a confirmation of selection?? Doesn't exactly make polls fair...

At least it's not permanant because an actual stud can be abrasive to some of the teeth by putting very tiny cracks to it over the time.
