Many years later, I returned, this time as a living historian working on film projects on location, working out of the wonderful Claymont Estate in Charles Town. Claymont, is a beautiful mansion, and home to the nephew of George Washington. As the story went, his nephew married a woman who had a sister who'd married another prominent man who lived across the small valley, over on an adjoining hill, and that every morning, the two sisters would start the day by going up and standing upon the grand veranda of their estates across the small valley and wave their aprons in greeting at each other.
Claymont Estate, and the area in general were stunning, and just up the road from Harpers Ferry, another wonderfully magical piece of history Americans should take the time to visit.
So many great memories working on location!
Can't say that about any other state .
The Hills are a Wonder in their beauty , the rivers lively and the people friendly .
You judge, there is more than you can imagine
