That's offensive to a girl who deals with depression all the time. Oh so I'm DESPERATE now? Thanks. Sometimes I really DO want to die from the stuff I go through. And don't you dare say "oh, you're a teen, you have not been through ANYTHING" because you don't know me. T_T

In my opinion its a mix of the real and the fake. There are those who need the help and others who well in my opinion just kids who think they need to be the centre of attention. Always. Its kind of a shame because its hard to really see who need's help.

Unfortunately. I think they need validation of their existence, and obviously are not getting it from anywhere else than online. When I was a kid and was sad, I spent the day with family or friends, not lamenting on the internet....but of course, the only time I had internet access was for a school project in the library.

We need to start paying attention more when people speak to us. Life is a precious gift and even though you might being going through hard times now, it will get better. Taking your own life is selfish and hurts the people you leave behind even if you think they don't care. Please people take the time and really listen to the ones around you, they may be reaching out to you..

that there are a lot of people who really do want to die but there are also a lot of people who do fake it or say that for attention especially girls at my school but It's terrible that they do that about a serious subject especially because of the people who actually feel that way

I think some teens are experiencing terrible emotional pain. Their lives are more complicated than I could ever fully comprehend. Hopefully they will hang on until they can grab a lifeline.

It may be that she actually needs help. It's more likely that it's for attention, though.
But I'm not really sure as I'm a teenage girl who doesn't do that BS. I don't want to die.

Teens do not go online and head straight to public opinion sites, IF they are going to carry through with taking their lives. MOST (of course not all) teens come here seeking attention and/or approval STRICTLY from their peers - NOT to learn or listen to opinions from folks like you or me. What could be more satisfying, than knowing you always have a place you can go where "everyone your age will love you", no matter how immature or how ridiculous you act!!
