Washington will become the first state to offer voter registration via Facebook with a new application to be launched as soon as next week, according to a state election official. Once online, the app will be accessible on the Secretary of State's Facebook page, said Shane Hamlin, co-director of elections for the state. Do you think voter registration via Facebook is a good or bad idea?

Terrible idea. I can't imagine a much worse one. You think Voter fraud is bad now? God has a facebook page. Do you think he will vote for Obama? I just think this is opening the door for more voter fraud. Facebook is like a privacy sieve. It has breaches practically every week. Besides if people are too lazy to register, then they probably shouldn't be voting anyway.

..... Registration via FaceBook is Bad Idea.

I want a warm body with fingerprints signing the Voter Registration at a State Office under Security Camera Surveillance.

Once said voter is known to be authentic, logging onto a State/Fed website to actually cast a vote is a good idea .... but initially, I want to know it's a Legal Voter negating my vote, not a 50 year deceased stolen ID.

This is one moronic idea. As they say with computers, "Garbage in, Garbage Out!" and we already have too much garbage in Congress, the Administrations and our state legislatives to handle effectively. Go to your town offices with a real photo ID and don't let someone defraud you of your vote, especially your elected officials!!!

What are they using for verification of who they are? I think the mail in ballot is bad too. I live in WA state and received 2 identical ballots one year. How many times did that happen? It is too easy to cheat that way or get invalid votes. Go back to ID at the physical voting polls and let the mail voting be for handicap or elderly people who cannot get to the polls. They also should now have a short quiz to see if you are qualified to be voting. Too any people are clueless about the issues and they affect the outcome that drags us all down.

I'm with the majority on here because first off security is abysmal on Facebook, and if people can't be bothered to leave their house to register to vote, figure out how to register to vote at the DMV on their own or how to get an ID probably shouldn't be voting at all, whether they have the right or not.

I like the concept, but computers and websites are extremely vulnerable to malicious activities, even with all the anti-virus technology available today. Determining who our elected politicians should be is far too important of an obligation to be left to faulty internet software, and all voting should continue to be done in person.

Don't have a Facebook. Don't want one. Shouldn't need one.

I shouldn't need a "social media" site to legally exist. You know that's where it's going to go next. "A lot of people use Facebook. It's easy to track people with Facebook. Let's force everyone to use it so we can track them easily. And know exactly who everyone is."

Next thing you know, Facebook has been seized in some manner to be a gov't program to know everything about everyone. (Oh, and you get taxed for being on Facebook for more than 10 minutes a year. Just because they can.)

Common sense. We've all seen how easy it is to get our accounts hacked into on Facebook. Now try to visualize all the fraud if voter registration took place on Facebook. This is probably one of the worst ideas I've heard yet.

facebook, google,yahoo,twitter,etc..all tools to track you..with face reconition..you sign in now at yahoo..with a user name and have to add @yahoo.com, where is it then going ? to a huge data base, where a word , a phrase, a sentence sends you and your information to the cia, nsa..for what ? if your telling the truth, your loaded with 24 hidden objects to crash your computer...or then if you still tell the truth..your computer is infected with some virus, to make you sick, dizzy or even pass out..don't believe me , ask the acrt. and eng. for 911 truth who had it happen to them in a meeting, now they can do it over the internet.
