Maybe consumers have grown to become uber-sensitive to things that are cutting-edge and a little controversial, but some critics are definitely upset about the latest cover of Vogue Hommes Internationale, where model Stephanie Seymour is being choked from behind by a male model.

Critics find the cover, which was shot by the popular-yet-edgy photographer Terry Richardson, unsexy and say that it sends the wrong message to both men and women. Do you think the cover is too much? Or are its critics being a bit too particular?

NYDAILYNEWS.COM reports:
What’s in Vogue for the international male? Choking and groping, say anti-domestic violence advocates. Critics say the cover, shot by envelope-pushing photographer Terry Richardson is decidedly unsexy and sends both men and women a terrible message.

He's not choking her. He's enjoying her neck. It would be a huge turnoff if a girl was afraid of me touching her neck.

Not at all violent. Very sensual. And for the others kind of wondering why he appears to be licking his own finger....I thought that too, but I think its just the camera angle turned out a little funky... I think he was supposed to look like he was leaning in to lick her ear......um...unless he had his finger someplace else before he put his hand up to her throat........

her hands are both in positions of allowance, one is in a pocket, the other is behind either her head or his head, if she was being choked surely she would be trying to pry his hand off her neck instead of provoking it by having it as far out of the way as possible. she also looks to be in the throes of passion, not fear or anger. His eyes are closed his mouth open in ecstasy, not control. his hand on her neck is gently touching it, not wrapped around it trying to inhibit breathing. its clearly foreplay, passion, and they are going to get it on very soon :)

Its seductive, im sure the only position those critics use is missionary. This has 0 violence. Its called acting, even in the bed its just good acting ;)

Not needed just a cheap attention getter for a lib magizine. Lib= contorted, vile, anti moral everything.

Correct, if by "moral" you mean "head stuck in your own arse so far up you haven't seen any light in years".

No, defenitely not, it is maybe a possesive macho pose, but it does not express anything violent. I would rather say it is sexy, even on the border of erotic with his expression and index finder to the mouth.

It's the rape fantasy type of violence we are seeing associated with sex that bothers me the most. There's nothing sexy, hot or romantic about forced submission.

That's a far cry from rape. That's submission.

No, trust me on this. There is no way that pose is coming close to cutting off her proper blood supply. I had that done to me and her eyes would be bulging and she'd be clawing at his hand at her throat because her air supply would be cut off, first.

Nope, not buying that either. His fingers are not on the carotid artery, they are on the sternocleidomastoid which is pulled quite tight because her head is tipped back and to the right. Thumb and forefinger aren't even touching her neck, they are on the jawbones. It would take a lot more pressure than shown to even find the pulse in the carotid if his fingers were even over one of the spots where it is near the surface with the muscles relaxed. But you see what you see. I don't.

So why perceive the worst? It's a photo shoot for a magazine cover. Touching a woman on the neck in this case is erotic not harmful. Give em a break.

Touching a woman's neck is far from depraved. Hiding sexuality may be how you choose to live your life, but here in America we call it Freedom. Statistically speaking, a woman is half as likely to be raped in France than in the United States. To me, it would seem that depraving people and children of sexuality is what causes our problems.

He's not choking her. There's a difference between choking and a hand on your throat (of which I find sensual). I put my hand on my hubby's throat when i kiss him. Doesn't mean I'm getting violent. Seriously folks!

Kinky sex is probably the best description; male domination at its best. After all, look where he has the other hand. She is completely under his control.

If anyone takes this as violent, then they live in a dream world of fluffy bunnies and unicorns. This is just a product of trying to aim at the "Fifty Shades of Grey" crowd, a.k.a., lonely and undersexed house fraus.

It's obviously very sensual pose. Look at their faces or how her hand is behind her head as to lean in to him. Very sexy. Feel sorry for the boring people who only see negativity or violence.

Woman is obviously not choking or being choked. Who are these "critics" who are so uncomfortable with sexual roles? So unable to integrate sexuality with life; and to distinguish between, on the one hand, the psychology of everyday interactions between men and women and on the other hand, the psychology of sex, in the moment, between two people?
