The obesity at the young people is more and more frequent. I find that rather pitiful! Regrettably some have genetic diseases, but the others have problems of food. It would be necessary to make something!

There is a difference between having a few extra pound, and being unhealthily obese.

Obesity is the result of people trading short term pleasures for long term happiness. Unhealthy people are unhappy people.

My friend shared a picture on facebook that is perfect explanation...

    size 22

You don't have to be a size 2 to be pretty and even if a person weighs enough to go into the size 22 range they are still pretty yet could be healthier.
However when you get to be morbidly obese & still think nothing is wrong with you then that shows you that they don't care on rather they die or not.

She's not as fat as the picture of the two women on the post question. She could stand to lose some weight, but she's an attractive woman. Just think if she loses weight, how more attractive she would be.

That's basically what I meant with my statement though you have to admit that someone (who does not have an illness) who is over weight yet doesn't want to be healthy happens more often than not because they are more than likely ashamed of themselves or don't believe in themselves.

The picture shown is one of "morbid" obesity and that is gross and a great health risk.

I agree that it might not seem like a relevant topic, but it is. I believe the young extremely weight challenged women (in both photo's) won't be able to exist very long like this. Health is a concern for the future.

Extreme weight gain will be a problem for many tax payers. The knees of these women will not be able to support their bodies. They will not be able to work outside of the home if this continues. If they don't pay into healthcare, what will they do if (when) they have a medical crisis?

I realize I shouldn't make assumptions, just because someone is extremely overweight, doesn't mean they can't contribute to society; however, I think there are limitations. This is very sad.

Well in that case, i dont think unless their weight is proven to be caused by a medical condition, that they should be able to collect any type of support when they are no longer able to work..if they dont lose weight when they are able and their health deteriorates, then so be it.
  • La nverumind 2012/05/09 11:55:53

Why do people always defend morbid obesity with anorexia? Neither extreme is healthy, but let's be honest, there are more overweight people than underweight people. You are distracting from the issue.

What are you talking about?? I said either way its not pretty to look at.. and ide rather look at someone with too much weight than look at someone who is near death from starvation. IM not defending EITHER of them im saying that they are both disgusting.

This is not only unhealthy for them at this age but as they get older it will be far worst. And if they remain this heavy they will indeed have a short life.

Honestly, if they are happy then let them look however they want. I'm not really concerned about them being obese, I'm more concerned that they might get sick and leave their loved ones behind. I'm glad that they also have enough self confidence to wear a bikini when I'm smaller than them and I don't have the confidence! I'm not those two women, I don't have the right to say that they need to lose weight.

I can see this happening if someone has genetic problems ...
(for which medical treatment is necessary indeed .. all their lives)
    But .. seriously ..
it is not healthy at all ...
