Is the "backlash" against science really against science, or against the distrust of scientists?

That seems more to me like insecure religious people who are afraid evolution will disprove the existence of God and hate any kind of science that opposes religious mythology and dogma.

I don't hate science, I hate the fraud and lies of many scientists, especially those that 'fake' and destroy data when it comes to 'global warming'.

I hear ya. See that's the point of the question. It's the robotic-type scientists that mess about with genetics etc. that people don't trust, not science itself.

The distrust of scientists since so many of them are govt. grant jockeys and will prostitute themselves to the "proper" outcome otherwise the ol' academic welfare pot will dry up for them.

If the fundamentalists knew that many scientists see patterns in math and molecular machines of design in cells I think they would care as much about science and art
    as football and baseball.
