I was in the military, and flew ASW missions. You spend part of your time placing sonobouys in a pattern. This involves flying at high speed 50-100 ft above the ocean, and making 90 degree turns. The P3B was a 90 ft Wingspan plane, so often we could see the propwash making a wake in the water.
