I believe in god but Santa is a make believe person not real at all. There is no man that has a long white beard with rosy cheeks has a sleigh with reindeer and delivers gifts to children. Kids can believe that but I don't.

...depending on how you define "Santa Claus". It's a town in some Midwestern state I think.

Santa=Satan. Move the "n" to the end of the 'name'.
Satan is real. Santa is one of his aliases.

    The Way It Is
Satan planted a fabricated story of Santa to redirect the focus of what CHRISTmas is really about.

Pagan festival adopted by the Catholic church to put more butts in the seats and $ in the coffers. THAT "Christmas", formerly known as Winter-Solstice?

Not talking about the obviously twisted Catholic view. But the Protestant one. The one where it has always been about the birth of Jesus.

Saint Nicolas is real. I think he may have been Albanian(?) and was reburied in Italy (maybe Venice).

Saint Nickolas. Tradition in Germany. my boys loved growing up in Germany and getting to share in the great traditions and all of the wonderful cookies and chocolate. put out their shoes for Saint Nickolas to gift them gifts if they have been good or they get a sack of coal if they've been bad. My youngest son is 31, born in Nuernberg so we all have some wonderful memories of Saint Nickolaus.
But Santa Claus is a tradition that shows love to people you don't know.

I've heard the tradition started with a real person who brought gifts to less fortunate children.

I think I remember something about a saint who became Santa Claus.
In Russia I think he is known as Father Frost.
Won't say anymore. There might be kidds reading this.
