The internet is flocking to a new Tumblr page called "Rich Kids of Instagram," which is basically a tour of the good life... in picture form. The photos, set into virtual gold frames, feature mostly teens and young adults in exotic vacation spots, surrounded by the fineries of a high-end hotel room or their own lavish homes, as well as various other snapshots of a life free of financial worry.

An Atlantic Wire reporter, Rebecca Greenfield, had this to say about the Rich Kids of Instagram page. "Teens posing with helicopters they did not earn and posting photos online for others to ogle provides an easy in for commentary on the state of the American dream. (Dead.)"

RICHKIDSOFINSTAGRAM.TUMBLR.COM reports:
They have more money than you and this is what they do.

Oh yea because European countries are sooooooooooo worried about people starving. Please. Americans give to charity more than anyone.

Americans give more to charity, per capita and as a percentage of gross domestic product, than the citizens of other nations.

Ireland and Australia trailed behind the U.S. in giving.

I think America needs to pull all it's foreign aide to everyone then lets see how much we suck. Ungrateful people deserve NOTHING.

Trendy, but this looks more like a Hamptons club or fraternity celebration, something that would require a white shirt--somebodies birthday party at the yacht club, maybe?At least half of these photos are Non-American rich kids--lots of Brazilians, Mexicans, Swedish, Austrians, Italians here--Notice they all drink vats full of Dom Perrione/Dom Rose=Yechhh! I guess they drink what is expected of them, as taught by lovingly over- indulgent parents. All will be raging alcoholics by 25 years old.

Just look into these people's eyes...you can basically see the stupidity, the shortsightedness, and the blind, dumbfounded arrogance. If this sort of thing pisses you off, don't worry...none of these clowns will be holding on to their money at all and will have probably pissed most of it away on alcohol and frivolous parties before too much longer.

Couldn't agree with you anymore. I don't care how rich a kid is. If their parents didn't treat them with a single shred of humility and what it's like being poor, they won't appreciate what they have.

Exactly. Every person needs to at least know what it is to struggle a little. It makes you a better person. I'd rather be poor and be a good person than be rich and be totally selfish. It is also the reason I'm going to college and I'm going to do better than my parents did, so I can help them, and hopefully help others. My parents taught me to help others instead of shrugging them off and ignoring them. Even if you have a little to share, it's worth sharing.

Another problem is some of these rich people who came from nothing, are so blinded by their own greed they forget where they came from, how they got there, and the people who helped them get to where they want to be.

Raved you, even though I grew up a millionaire rich kid and all my friends pretty much used their parents money for booze, drugs, travel and clothes/technology.

When you grow up with money, it's hard to understand the full value of it and easy to take it for granted and just have fun. I never felt right about the fact that I didn't earn any of my life, but still enjoyed it while it lasted, I did love travel.

I'm broke as hell nowadays though, can't wait to finally get a well paying job for myself.

I'm sure it's hard to see what people say about kids like that, and probably like you. I'm glad you can look at it now and realize that you took it for granted. I'm glad you know that.
