Is Marijuana a Gateway Drug, or is this just propagandist phrase used to induce fear without fact?

Peacock 2012/06/12 17:41:23An emerging theory that states the likelihood that someone will transition to...+7Depends on the person. The majority of people that I know, who smoke pot, and have for a long time, never tried hard drugs. It's for recreational use, like drinking beer or wine. Not all drinkers are alcoholics, not all smokers go further.. It really depends on the people.

Personally, I think all substances should be legal. We live in a free society. Adults should be free to engage in any act they desire so long as it does not unduly infringe upon the rights and freedoms of others.
Beer is far more dangerous than weed. Do the research. That is a fact.
My honest idea as to who pot is still illegal is twofold. One is there is not a test to say you are under the influence RIGHT NOW. Only that you do or do not smoke. No way for employers to protect themselves from workplace accidents. Second is the alcohol lobby. They don't want weed legalized AT ALL!!! Would hurt their sales.
I am NOT making light of your expirience. Coke is a bitch!! But if pot was sold at the beer store and NOT by a drug dealer that would stop many people from being exposed coke.
