Major marijuana myth: pot use use can be a cause of death. So say many anti-drug warriors, such as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who recently wrote to a constituent that "marijuana and other narcotics" can lead to death.
PotleafAccording to Time magazine, "No one has ever died of THC [marijuana] poisoning, mostly because a 160-pound person would have to smoke roughly 900 joints in a sitting to reach a lethal dose."
In 1988, DEA Administrative Judge Francis Young concluded, "In order to induce death, a smoker would have to consume 20,000 to 40,000 times as much marijuana as is contained in one marijuana cigarette."

Here's the good news: Fewer teens are smoking cigarettes. Here's the bad news: More of them are smoking pot. A new study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that only 18 percent of teens said they smoked a cigarette in the past 30 days, but 23 percent said they smoked marijuana in the same time frame.

So why are adolescents choosing pot over cigarettes? A study from the University of Michigan found that teens have gotten the message that cigarettes are bad for you, but seem to believe marijuana is less harmful.
Alcohol, however, is still teens' top drug of choice. More than 1 in 3 high school students reported current alcohol use in 2011, and 1 in 5 high school students reported binge drinking, CBS reports. Do you think it's more dangerous for teens to smoke pot? Or cigarettes?

What about, by the way, the recent discoveries of marijuana causing heart attacks in some people? Or the car accidents caused by driving while high? Or even just the overall acceptance of mediocrity at best in your life? That's worse than death, in my opinion.
Marijauna is non-toxic, you can't die from it. Nicotine is toxic. Lookup the LD-50 ratings on toxicity.

"here is the truth from my side" ???
Would that be the side of a drug addict trying to rationalize their addiction?

Truth of the matter is, One joint is more harmful than one smoke, Neither are in any way GOOD for you.. As I said, How you choose to kill yourself is not my business.. But you had better get ready for field blood tests if they legalize dope... BTW, They call it "Dope" for a reason..
Now take a moment to think about how wonderful this plant really is! It is capable of providing clothing (hemp is the strongest fiber in the world), it provides nutrition (cannabis seeds contain the most concentrated nutrients found in any food)! It’s “main ingredient” THC has even been proven to be anti-carcinogenic, eliminating lymphatic tumors in test rats within two weeks.
On top of all of these wonderful benefits, it has now been SCIENTIFICALLY CONFIRMED that it indeed does increase creativity, reduce depression and anxiety, and promote peace.

However, I've seen a list like that from many proponents of legalizing pot. If marijuana has such wonderful health benefits, then why not work towards making it in a medical form, rather than legalizing the smoking of it? Cocaine has medical uses, comes from a plant, and is an amazing localized pain reliever. However, no doctor puts a line of cocaine on the area that hurts or has you snort it to make you feel better. There are medical forms of it, such as the novacaine that dentists use, or the benzocaine in OTC tooth pain relievers such as Orajel. Why does no one suggest treatment like that for marijuana? You'd still have all the amazing health benefits you tote, and abusers of the drug, much like those of cocaine would be much easier to spot. Medical marijuana cards would not be necessary because it would be in the form of and treated like any other medical drug out there. Why treat this plant any differently than other plants used for both medical and illegal uses?
Smoking neither is the best choice.
I am a teenager who smokes marijauan a lot so I have some expirence plus I'm involved in the higher distribution networks.
The delers never grow the marijuana. They buy it from someone else who probably didn't grow it either. Marijauna is grown in large operations yeilding pounds. There is not a lot a grower can to do alter his plants negatively in anyway. It is not like cocaine where it can be cut with cheap drugs to make more money. It is a plant that is grown and the large buds are taken from the plant. General gardening chemicals are used but they are same stuff used on vegetables in grocery stores. It grown locally too, not from third world countries such as opium. The marijuana market is actually very safe. There are cases where some idiot street level dealer will lace your bud with drugs, but this never happens in the higher levels.
Nightshade is also a plant. It's also natural and very poisonous. Poison Oak and Poison Ivy: also plants, and as their names suggest: also poisonous. Cocaine comes from a plant, too, but there aren't very many people who will stand up for the health benefits of cocaine being used illegally and not in a medicinal form. Not everything in nature is going to be good for us. Just as chocolate is toxic to dogs and cats, there are things that are toxic to us that other animals can eat perfectly fine. Anything that can alter the chemistry of your brain should be used with extreme caution. Even prescribed medication for such things does not work the same for everyone, which is why mental health treatment is so difficult and takes such a long time. There is no telling how any individual will react to something like that.
