Is it weird that I have so many phobias/irrational fears?

I'm extremely afraid of the dark sometimes, of being touched by humans (which has to do with my aspergers syndrome too), of daddylonglegs and all spiders, of dolls, mirrors, and many other things. Also several times I heard a small noise or something and that caused me to shout "ARE WE ALL GOING TO DIE?" Or rather, what I actually said, was, "Разве мы все умрем?", but still same thing.

Nut crackers does it for me. They scare the hell out of me. Also rouches and waterbugs.oh, and republicans.

So how do you go to bed at night if you do not like the dark.
Do you shake hands with people?

I knew someone who had a room full of those old fashioned porcelain dolls. What would happen if you walked into a room full of these dolls?

What if a spider dropped down from the ceiling? That happened to me a few times. It was like the spider planned it too.

I sometimes turn the lights on or just force myself to sleep. I don't always shake hands but sometimes if I have to. I would scream and run out the door. If it was a daddy long legs, I would scream and run out the door. If it was another spider, I would do the same. I never kill spiders or bugs though because I have to never kill or harm any animals.

Yes. I'm only scared of dolls because once I had a dream that my dolls came to life and tried to kill me when I was about 8. I still like these though:

It was a room full of these dolls. It was scary to me because I think only crazy people would like to have a room full of these.

No, it's not weird. Lots of people have phobias and fears....I had quite a few myself when I was young. I hated the dark when I was young even older than you, but now I love it.
I know it sounds trite, but you do outgrow them.

Maybe it's just Anxiety? Aspergers can make you a bit panicky and can cause you to have really bad ocd.

Not really. I have a phobia of crowded or really steep stairs, spiders, dolls, and I get extremely nervous when there is a bunch of people around.

Hey, lighten up, Lydia. Your life has just taken a turn for the better. You have many friends here that love you. Look at the glass as half full rather than half empty. You are attractive, intelligent, talented and, except for your political views, pretty darned great. Don't worry about dying. We all have to face that one day. Start living. You deserve to have a lot of fun and enjoy yourself. You're not weird, maybe just a tad eccentric. Not a thing wrong with that. We are all weird in our own way.

I try to not worry about things but I have more acceleratiing thoughts and a lot of them are compulsive thoughts too. I have fun most of the time but still I can be somewhat paranoid

Weed and schrooms can do that to you. You have so much going for you. I don't know how to help with your "problems" but if you ever need a friend, you know where you can find at least one who will help. Just look for The River Rat. My girlfriend like you too.

You know that I don't do it much... Right? Not much anymore, actually. I'm never depressed but sometimes really tense/stressed but it's better than being sad. I'm really happy now that I've started doing Zen!

I know, I just like to kid you a bit about it. Happiness is what life is all about. If you can find anything that helps you be happier, grab it and hold on for dear life. For me it's Ariell. For you maybe Zen. Do what helps you be happy. Enjoy life.

But it affects my life. I usually can't even sleep alone unless I turn the lights on and even then since I have insomnia too I can't really sleep much.

I can understand your distress. But it still doesn't make you weird.
I am also terrified of spiders. I am so afraid of them that I can't even go near them to kill them. But I do pretty well with snakes and a lot of people think that is really weird.
If it stays overwhelming, you might find a therapist to help you work with it. Good luck with all of it.

Don't give up. It can continue to get better. Some fears take a while to chip away. In many ways you seem to be doing very very well.
