While it is possible to know what is good and evil, the distinction is often "clouded" in human perception. That is, it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between the "appearance and reality" of good and evil. What is really evil may initially appear to be "good," and what is "good" may appear to be evil. Experience can help in making a more accurate distinction between good and evil, but the knowledge of good and evil is certainly possible for humans.

nope. i think abortion is good, why make a child suffer if they cant be cared for properly, but others think abortion is evil, why kill an innocent child before it has a chance? its all a matter of perspective

The Bible is historical fiction. 99% made up. It was put together by man for man. No "God" wrote it. Over 40 authors. So yes the God concept is made up.

Is It OK to Lie on you're Income Tax? Yes Or No?

How did you do? If you did any of these would you feel Guilty?

If Not, you have a seared Conscience If you said these are wrong, You're Conscience told you that therefore, you know the difference between right and Wrong

There are certain issues that people debate on the morality of, but some things are certainly evil while others are certainly good.

A few of my own rules of thumb:
If it harms innocent people, it's probably bad.
If your religion says it's wrong, but you can't make a logical debate on it from a secular point of view, it's probably not as bad as your religion makes it out to be.
If it brings good without causing harm, it's probably good.

Most religions have their own rules that defines what is morally right and what is morally wrong. For example, one method I was taught in my Catholic school is that if it pleases God it is morally right and if it does not, it is morally wrong. :S

I read the question perfectly - and your answer. Raping a child is not morally good if a child rapist thinks so. The moral wrong of raping children is not just a personal preference.

If moral good and evil are properly defined in terms of subjective personal preference, then a pedophile is perfectly morally justified in his 'morality'.

Your 'point' is obviously false. Unfortunately, way too many people would unthinkingly agree with you.

I'm going to take this literally and say that evil, as in the religious term, does not exist in my mind. So nothing is evil. There are people who do bad and people who do good, and sometimes we have all done a level of both. But evil is a religious term that I don't believe in. Just my opinion. Not trying to insult anyone whatsoever.
