The date should be about honest interaction and non-judgemental behavior. Using cupons is a smart thing to do, not a bad thing or a sure sign of a bum, etc. Any woman or man that gives up on a date because he/she uses cupons is a money whore.

Honestly, if you can get a meal at a percentage off, your date should look at you as if youre the smartest sumbitch in the room. After all, you can theoretically use the savings on something else...like gas for having to pick up the lobster-eating succubus.

    I should have clicked "No."

I cannot remember a date where I ever used a coupon. For that matter, I cannot remember an outing with friends where a coupon was used. It just is not a good policy to look cheap.

People usually do not lay claim to dieting or penny pinching in public for good reason.

Which is why were in debt. I think the government doesn't want to use coupons to decrease the debt with China...don't want to look cheap in front of the Chinese. They always tend to bring out their expensive dinnerware.

Right now everyone really ought to be a penny pincher at times. A possible deal breaker for some would be taking a gal ( or guy ) on a FIRST date to Mc Donalds or Sonic. *shakes head* if a a person has a coupon for a decent restaurant that isn't a big deal. Its hard getting out of a fast food place with out spending at the very least 20 bucks for 2 people. So saving a few bucks on a decent meal then *shrugs* it wouldn't bother me.

I would be very disappointed if some guy talked about taking me on a "date" and took me to a fast food place.

Why would that turn you off? Do you think how much he pays for your meal matters, even if you got the same thing in the end?

but for heaven's sake don't feel ashamed about it. That should be included in the invitation, like: "Hey I have a coupon for dairy queen, you wanna go?" You know, be yourself. . .

Eh, it kinda depends. If you are having a hard time with money but you really wanted to ask the girl out. That's OK. It's not OK if you have plenty of money, but are being a cheapskate.

Using a coupon will tell you real fast if the girl is a Gold Digger or not. If she thanks you for taking her out, and doesn't mind that fact you used a coupon to save a little... she's a keeper... If she says something about you being "cheap".. she is a digger and it's a good thing you saved a few bucks - as the ones you spent were wasted anyway.

Know your budget. If you can't afford it....don't go to it. Simple. If your going to some place you can't afford and your using a coupon....yeah that screams cheapskate.

If your date is struggling financially, then he can take you to a less expensive restaurant - especially on a first date. If you really like the guy after that, it won't matter whether or not he uses a coupon. He doesn't have to impress a gal the first time out if he can't actually afford to and if a woman is not a gold digger, she won't mind going to a less expensive restaurant.

I don't have to be a gold digger to want to go to a nice restaurant every once in a while, and I don't care whether my date uses a coupon or not. I'm not paying for it, I'm the grateful receiver, and if my date wants to use a coupon to save money, he can use it, I have nothing against that.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion and, if you don't mind, so am I. The question was asked and I replied. My preference is to have a man take me to a restaurant he can afford without using a coupon. If that's Burger King, I don't have an issue with that. Clearly you don't agree. I'm not saying you're way of thinking is wrong.
