Is it OK to Dress Sexy When Pregnant?

Recently pregnant Camila Alves is the brand ambassador for Macy's exclusive I.N.C line and former model. Since announcing this past July that she's pregnant, she "hasn't missed a beat in her gorgeous, statement-making wardrobe. In fact she looks to her baby bump as inspiration to look sexier than ever."

In fact, Alves goes on to say, "I look better if I have tight, fitted things," the 30-year-old Brazilian super model told Us Weekly at her I.N.C. campaign launch in NYC on Thursday. "Anytime I put on anything that is really flowing, it makes me look twice as big than I am." Do you think it's OK for pregnant woman to dress in tight, sexy clothes?

Matthew McConaughey's wife, who is expecting her third child, tells Us that "flowing" maternity dresses make her "look twice as big."

A woman, pregnant or not, has every right to dress as she likes. When I get pregnant, I'm going to dress based on mood, comfort and style. And considering how many sites there are that have huge memberships devoted to the beauty of pregnant women--I can toss the self-consciousness out the door right now.
Domino, the porn star, when she was pregnant, the traffic to her site really increased a LOT.
Many men, and more than a few women, find pregnant women beautiful.

But, I'm sure there'll be some jackass along shortly telling us all how pregnant woman should dress and why such should be mandated by law...

I agree that the red one has too much chest showing... but I don't see a problem with the black one?

The black one is awful. It shows her bump too much and if she were standing on her side it looks totally ugly.

It's not 1950. A woman should dress how she wants, regardless of if she's pregnant or not. A lot of women have trouble feeling sexy during pregnancy and in the beginning after the baby is born, so I think continuing to dress like yourself can only help. After all, there's nothing inherently shameful or unsexy about bringing new life into the world. It's a beautiful thing.
The only "sexy" item I wouldn't suggest is super high heels, as they could cause falls.

Nothing wrong with dressing sexy when pregnant as long as the clothes aren't too tight as to potentially constrict blood flow or too sexy that it crosses the line over into trashiness. I felt sexy when I was pregnant so I dressed sexy but I did it with taste and without sacrificing my comfort either.

Of course it's okay to dress sexy when pregnant. Many women feel ugly when they're pregnant. The better the mother feels, the better the pregnancy will end up. Let them dress nice. That's a good thing. :)

Lolo rocks the house! I love Lolo! I respect her virginity and the fact she's waiting for the right man. That impresses me. As a man, I truly respect that! I wish more women and women would think like her.

It's not like pregnancy is some weird disease...it happens pretty often you know...populating the world and all.

Women shouldn't feel like they need to hide their bodies because they're pregnant. Let them wear whatever they want!

I think it may have been a reference to a decision a liberal New Jersey judge made a couple years ago or so upholding Sharia Law or something similar in a case between a husband and a wife...the details are hazy, but the decision had to do with a perverse, selective application of tolerance for the values of sub-communities. Tennessee's implication is that "all the liberals" are so neck-deep in moral relativism and devoid of objective values that it creates a contradiction: Sharia Law (or at least the common perception of it - I really know nothing about it) is extremely intolerant regarding women's clothing, so if liberals are tolerant of both Sharia Law and sexy clothing, mayhem will ensue. One of them has to go, and Sharia Law was already upheld, so therefore it has to be sexy clothing. ;)

That joke was such a huge jump that I cannot fathom how it was the first thing that popped into Tennessee's head when he read this poll...LOL. His entire brain must seriously be hardwired to relate everything to a partisan attack, such that no matter how loose or distant the connection is, it's still the path of least resistance...or something. I wish I could properly visualize how it works. :p
