I lost my mom almost two weeks ago and I almost called her last Friday as I usually did because I forgot that she was gone.
I really miss her.

I did the same thing when my mom died. So many times I'd reach for that phone to call her.

yes, it's very normal if the person is someone you were close with and phoned or visited regularly. the forgetting she's gone will pass over time - though you'll continue to miss her.

My father is out of town on business as far as I know. I miss him and my golden retriever lap dog who would try to climb in my father's lap to convince him to go for a walk. Ahh well.

    theyre always with us...
you can always talk with her whenever you want, and she will listen to your problems.
my great grandmother died a few years ago because of a doctors malpractice during surgery, and i still feel her presence sometimes, especially around her possesions, like her old reading glasses, her pictures, and her Mother Mary statuette. a few times, i have heard her when i was trying to make a tough decision, not inside my head, but her voice out loud.
in fact, a strange occurance happened one time. on my birthday, there was a music box of hers in the hallway that she had given to my mother and myself, and you had to wind it up and open it to get it to play, but it hadnt worked in forever. anyways, on my birthday, the key started turning as i walked by, and the music started playing, without it having to open. when i did open it, there was an old set of skeleton keys that belonged to her house that she grew up in, in south dakota. and when we went there last summer, i had the keys and was able to open all the rooms, which had been locked for ages (it was a very old farmhouse, which had been abandoned for sometime but was still owned by the family) i found her room, and was surprised because it hadn't been touched since the last people who had lived there (which w...

but anyways, it isnt strange at all, because she really is still there in her spiritual presence, just not in her bodily presence.
sorry for talking your ear off :/

It's normal for someone to feel strange about losing someone they love and they don't want to think that it's true that they passed away and it takes a long time to come to terms with it.
