No, it is not you. There are a large proportion of people who scan a post, read what they want to read and them go on a rampage designed to allow them to bring up their pet prejudices and rant
most people want to believe what they are saying is right/true and that if you don't share their same views, to them everything you say is wrong/false. its not so much selective reading as it is ignorance of another's life and arrogance that their life separates the bounds of what "is" and what "is not".
No, it's not just you, who notices that. Many SH's don't read the text at all, before answering a poll or question. Doesn't matter, if it's reasonably brief.
I have people when I talk to them,they do not listen full,but pick out key words,throw them back at me as if they said it first. I have warned a few people{Manly brothers} that getting caught insulting my i intelligence,will result in a punch in the face. The same with people who take some words & throw it at me.
