    What a silly question.

Just because Ayn Rand was an atheist doesn't mean that all atheists are childish, self-absorbed sociopaths.

Atheism, by definition, means you don't believe in a God.

It does not mean anything else, there is no "philosophy" in atheism, a atheist independently can follow any philosophy or moral code or ideal or be any kind of person.

So there is nothing contradictory for an atheist apart from them believing in a God.

An atheist can believe life has a higher purpose, an atheist can believe that life is meaningless, an atheist can believe in anything, besides a God. That's all atheism means, people should understand that.

I have an atheist friend who is a Buddhist, she doesn't believe in a God, but follows the Buddhist philosophy as a guide how to live her life. An atheist is not some group or religion you belong to like Christianity, it simply means you see God as a not provable hypothesis and therefore you can't believe in the concept.

This non-belief does not affect any other factor of your life or how you see life. Some people will always see life as meaningless, and others will see life as extraordinary and amazing. You don't need to believe that there is a man controlling everything in space in order for life to have meaning. And if you do, if you honestly think life has no meaning if there wasn't a man in space controlling everything, then I think you need to take a good look and reflect upon how you see life and the universe. Because it seems rather empty if all your meaning and beauty of life is attached to a supernatural being.

Charities don't necessarily mean a religion. It's for the needy who need a helping hand.
I send to a few .I never think of religion.I just think of people in need.

Why would it be ? The only time it would even raise eyebrows is if they gave to a church. Even then, if they were doing a special collection for earthquake victims of a recent quake even that wouldn't be strange as the church was merely the collector. Being an Atheist only means you don't believe in God. It doesn't mean you have to be mean to everybody or not care about others.

A Atheist can be just as or more charitable than those that are religious. I have many religious friends and most have tight wad attitudes that God helps those that help themselves. Well if you don't have a damn thing to start with their little bits of wisdom suck. I always give at the minimum a dollar to someone in the streets, because until you walk in their shoes you don't know what is going on in anyone's life

No, but it is unusual. Religious people give far more time, money, blood, resources etc than the irreligious/

Almost all Atheists live inconsistently with Atheism. No intrinsic significance, purpose or meaning to life. No moral reality.... Atheism is absolute madness when taken seriously. Of course Stalin, Lenin, Mao, Pol Pot, Kim Jung, Castro took Atheism seriously, so it's not impossible.

The Red Cross is a secular charity and does work all over the planet and there are many more like it with thousands of volunteers every where. Atheists do not volunteer at churches. They do work at many other centres that need help as well.
