According to TakePart.com, state fair foods are reaching new levels of golden brown and delicious. From deep-fried butter to Kool-Aid, just about everything on the menu is getting the fried treatment. The days of corn dogs are certainly out, being replaced by more sought-after fare, emerging from the hot caldron of bubbly oil.

Self control people. Self control. Take responsibility for yourself. That includes what you put in your mouth. You can't blame someone else if you've picked up a bottle of poison and drank it (mind you it's labelled in huge writing with a hazard sign). Same goes for food.

Fair food is usually a once a year indulgence. If you don't want it, by all means don't eat it. Some people have fun with it.

What once was a novelty, in that the sweet fried treats were called "Funnel Cakes", "Corn Fritters", and "Elephant Ears", has turned into an uncontrolled trash fest!

One of the highlights of the county fair is to try the latest deep fried creation. it's not I eat this kinda thing every day so one time out of the year is no big deal.

The fact that this has become one of the highlights of the county fair is simply sad and disturbing... deep-fried foods have become the kind of thing that's eaten every day... corndogs and the like used to be reserved for county fairs. This sort of food is creeping into restaurants, it will soon be in supermarkets.
I hate seeing this crap happen in the US, since it's only a matter of time before it will start happening here... where the highlights are less on the food and more on the fair.

So what, why is it any business of yours whether someone eats fried foods every day or if t's "creeping" into restaurants???? Don't YOU believe in freedom of CHOICE for one to live the type of lifestyle THEY want to live???

I think if people want to kill themselves by gorging on junk, they're free to it... doesn't mean I can't still think it's disgusting and too much.

It does become my business, however, if my tax dollars end up paying for their healthcare.

They do... which is why I consider it my business if someone's as big as a house and therefore more likely to require a ton of serious healthcare than someone who is fit.

There's no benefit done, either... there are other things that are much more fun than eating.

I do know people who eat deep fried foods every day... and have the nerve to whine and moan about being unhealthy. To me, that's sad. I used to weigh over 350 lbs... that certainly wasn't fun. I'm down to 160 now... still way too overweight for my height, but life is a lot more fun now.

That's YOUR opinion...however some people do like to eat fun "bad" food because it is enjoyable to indulge in "bad" food every now and then. So you only eat to survive, well good for you... I think it's "sad" that you find no enjoyment in eating(sounds like you've got some issues).

I'm actually very fit and eat healthy daily..BUT when I go to a state fair with my kids and I WANT/CHOOSE to eat unhealthy that day..that's MY BUSINESS, not yours. Stay out of my life with how YOU "feel" what we all should eat...and I'll "gladly" support YOUR lifestyle telling those who disagree with your lifestyle to mind their own freakin' business.... YOU know, just how YOU should be supporting my "right" to consume whatever food I want to!!! Can you not read? I've said a few times here that people should be allowed to eat whatever they want.
I simply think it's disgusting and over the top... I'm free to voice my opinion.
And yeah, I have an issue with fat people... I used to be fat (over 350 lbs), and I lost the weight, WITH a thyroid issue and on medications that cause weight gain. Being fat causes health issues and then my tax dollars end up paying for people's healthcare, when they brought on the issues themselves. That makes it my business.
