Side bangs, also known as "emo" bangs, are popular with women (Nicole Richie) and men (Justin Bieber). And let's not forget emos. So imagine the panic when an optometrist told The Daily Telegraph that the emo hair style could cause lazy eye, or amblyopia.

"If a young emo chap has a fringe covering one eye all the time, that eye won't see a lot of detail," Andrew Hogan of Australia told the tabloid. "And if it happens from a young age, that eye can become amblyotic."
But msnbc.com ontacted Dr. Leonard Press, the New Jersey eye specialist who co-authored the clinical practice guidelines on amblyopia for the American Optometric Association, and he scoffed at the scoop, saying it's really only a problem for people younger than 7 years old.
"The story would only be true," he said, "if you had somebody young enough, and if that person never looked out of that eye -- if it was blocked 24-7. The reason it’s false is that you don’t have that constant deprivation." We're inclined to think that it's safe to get as "emo" as you want to with your hair, assuming you're over 7. What do you think?
But that look was not considered Emo over here (Ireland, Dublin). A few years back it was just the common look of girls, and im slowly persuading all my girls to bring it back, got girls with blue, green, purple, red and just nice colours of blonde.
This is the look my hard work is bringing back.

If you think thats bad looking, then you just have bad taste in women...s looks.
She tried to prove me wrong and went to ask my eye doctor trying to make me look stupid, but he told her it was fine.
It's just an ubsurd excuse to frighten people who happen to like emo bangs or parents who have children with emo bangs into getting a haircut.
These are emo bangs
These are regular side bangs
Even still, emos don't wear their hair pushed over one eye 24/7, so this question is just stupid.
That's not even logical.
