I think living together can give each person a realistic experience to base future plans upon. It is certainly not as bad as the many religions make it out to be.

Knowing if you can live with someone on a day to day basis dealing with everyday problems is not a bad thing.

With the trials and tribulations of our modern day society, I believe it is sometimes the only good option some people have.

It really depends on the circumstance.

That would be up to the couple but I do know that there is a higher divorce rate between those who live together first than those who wait by 2 to 1.

In the past, no. Today, yes, apparently.

    "The Pill" changed everything.

For me it was critical. I'm a hands on learner. But according to research cohabitation does not improve the odds of a marriage working long term.

I married young--probably way too young. I wonder in hindsight if it wasn't at least in part because I was wanting sex on a regular basis. Maybe, if I'd lived with my ex, I wouldn't have married so young.

You learn things about a person by living with them, things that could easily be a deal breaker, such as her tendency to stab anyone who looks at her funny before her morning coffee, or his habit of wall painting with his poop. Besides, not everyone wants to get married, but still might wish to live with their partners.

Many may not agree with that, But it's best to find out if you and that person will make it or not,

Best if they're not spawning before they decide they're right for each other, though.

Most couples start living between places before they end up giving up one or the others place.
