Is "bad sex" better than "no sex"?

Well thankfully, I have never experienced "bad sex" now I've had sex that wasn't as fulfilling as I would have liked, but it still wasn't bad. And of course there were those times when I was unable to perform, that probably was the worse case. But I have never experienced flat out "bad sex". I don't think there is a such thing.

Bad sex at least comes with momentary intimacy and some kind of release. Isn't that why most people even have to make the distinction? Cuz when it's about love, rarely is there a ”bad” time, ya know? And poor performance is easily forgiven.

No; I had 3 of them in my lifetime; and I can remember all 3-of them . . . Some of the good ones, I have practically forgotten. I am not kidding. Hence, it is the direct opposite of what some might think. THIS is something that no one ever thinks about . . . They just don't believe that it's possible, or something. One of the gals even openly-admitted to me that she was told by someone else before . . . She was well-aware of my reputation; thus, she wanted to "run a lab-test straight from the top" so to speak. She was actually looking for answers. She had some more stuff about her (negative) that one could not notice unless he got intimate with her. One gal was even awarded trophies for winning "Dolly Parton Look-Alike" contests. You can't tell a good book by it's cover. You have to understand that a cover is just the inerpretation from another -- NOT from you. And the 3rd one, I don't even want to get into it. She really, really sucked. Thanks, btw, for ruining my day.

Speaking as some one who has been non voluntarily celibate for two years, yes bad sex is better than no sex.

Depends on which partner is getting sex and whic is getting bad sex.

At least with no sex you can still orgasm and be guilt free afterwards while I would think bad sex would cause all sorts of problems.

I don't think so; on top of bad sex, there's STDs and other undesirable things.

It can be both. There definitely will be awkwardness, but at the same time it can be nice. As long as you're comfortable with each other, and support each other through it. It also helps if you're not intoxicated.
